    FYI - Cheap 532nm Goggles

Thats the DX 200mW, so normally it is blinding bright! but with those red shades from scope stuff, I can see the dot with very little discomfort, and the beam is invisible.. and normally the dot is a pin head size, but in that pic it is a couple inches, the same size dot as if it was 50 ft away! lol

and... btw... how does this look for a much diffused and dimmer dot, shot taken at about 6 ft away.

    FYI - Cheap 532nm Goggles

Those are just red lens goggles. I found an extremely good pair for cheap at scope stuff. I recieved it just a several days after ordering and was very surprised! I tested then by shining the laser through the glasses and seeing that the dot was not too bright, I know they won't be good enough...

    overheating

Is it possible to only slightly cook the diode? I think that happened when my DX 200mw overheated because of the battery shorting out.. it was just the batteries and tube getting hot however.. but I was just wondering if less than 5 mins of extreme heat can partially 'cook' a DPSS diode?

    Shootin the moon !

Nice moon pic, try using a tripod, longer exposure, and lower F numbers, I found a nice tutorial online and came up with this pic some time ago with a comparable camera to yours. I think dis is the link home.hiwaay.net/~krcool/Astro/moon/howtophoto

    CounterStrike

CS was officially ruined when they came out with that STEAMing pile of crap software!!! Slows everything down, and stops you from having custom skins, models.. etc.. and there are still cheaters around, so basically Valve has just sold out..

    Hello guys

Thanks, I just hope that it didn't get permanently damaged when the batteries shorted out and overheated. I think it must have reached around 200 F or 100C degrees cuz it burned me and expanded the battery tube, so now things jiggle around a bit :-/

    Hello guys

Here is a pic of the beam in a dark room, while it is visible in daylight at certain angles, it doesn't show up in the camera with no tripod.

    Hello guys

Hi there, I am a new member. I just recieved a Deal Extreme Laser, it was well worth the investment! I made some high quality goggles and got the rechargable e2 bateries. At first, the e2's overheated and may have caused some damage, but that's because the Deal Extreme spring for the batteries...
