    Optics for portable lasers

http://www.instructables.com/id/Laser-Image-Projector/ I'm gonna try something like this out when my lasers arrive and I have some free time. :)

Ah, that will work wonderfully if it happens to be magnetic. I could one of those flat refrigerator magnets into a circle and a hole in the center, place the grating on the head and 'lock' it there with the magnet. Lenses would be a different story. Hmm..

DX newwish (and clone) pointers and CR123s

After seeing these batteries, it looks like thats the only way he could have done it. If only there were more quality pointers that used AA batteries..or rechargeable lithiums.

Yeah, I guess I could probably do that with my dremel, myself. If I can carve a set of landing skids and main rotor blades for an RC heli with my little 2 speed, Im sure I could make a lens holder. =) If I can just get over the laziness..

    [Advice]True DX 30mw / DX 50 mw ,which 1 to take

Re: [Advice]True DX 30mw / DX 50 mw ,which 1 to ta Status: (of current shipment) On 1/10/2008: Shipped I guess we'll see in a little bit. Hmm, says the above on one part of the page, but also states the shipment date as 1/8/2008 9:16:36 PM on the same page. I'm hoping it was the latter.

    OD - A question

I read somewhere else that this isnt as bad as people think, as because of how colimated a laser is, your pupils dilating would only increase the surface area available for it to enter your eye, not the amount that actually gets in there. Any truth in this?

    Green Laser Effects on Airplanes-Picture!

    1. Source is too far away for the dot to be that small. 2. Instrumentation shows the pilots nose a degree or 2 above the horizon, which would be ok if the pilot was beginning a flare on approach the the runway, but this guy is not doing that, or you wouldnt see the runway the way you do. Looks...

Re: Recommendation of a cheap scanner for band sho That's a bit out of my budget, andy. :P £270 is over $533, I do believe. I'm also looking for something thats at least RG, if not RGY. Gives more of a wow effect.

Recommendation of a cheap scanner for band shows

Hi. I'm new to the whole laser scanner thing, and Im looking to buy something not too expensive to use during gigs with a few of my friend's bands, and nothing too powerful, as people would be pretty close to the stage at some of these venues. I was looking at something like this...

    [Advice]True DX 30mw / DX 50 mw ,which 1 to take

Re: [Advice]True DX 30mw / DX 50 mw ,which 1 to ta As I said, I cant speak for personal experience, but Ive heard the 50mw is hit or miss. You may get 40ish mw, you may get 10mw, but it seems that a lot of people that have ordered both recommend the 30 over the 50 for quality reasons.

    [Advice]True DX 30mw / DX 50 mw ,which 1 to take

Re: [Advice]True DX 30mw / DX 50 mw ,which 1 to ta From what Ive heard, the best bet is to go with the 30. A lot have people have stated that the 50 is very underpowered, and a lot of the times the true 30 will be more powerful than the 50. I dont have either laser, so I cant speak from...

    Optics for portable lasers

Well, the end where the aperture is, I mean. Most of the microphonish looking portables like CNI have 38mm diameter heads, so neither of the nova lens holders or diffraction grating sizes will fit on there. Im surprised no one has hopped on the ball and designed something that will accomplish...
