UV Reactive/Glow In the Dark Objects

http://puttyworld.com/nuclear.html I have the kryptonite and it's fantastic.

    Blue-ray laser mouse?

With all respect... Are you sure he wasn't jerking your chain?

    Blue-ray laser mouse?

Yeah, I had trouble using my logitechs after replacing the red with a blue LED... That's a smaller difference than you'd get from near IR to near UV. I wouldn't mess with the laser doing the actual work. cosmetic if you can, sure, but not the IR diode itself...

    N cell blu-ray pointer

Which li-ion battery might be equiv. to 2 N's lengthwise? this is a pretty sweet build that I might like to try to copy, but would rather use rechargeables than N's... You mentioned the driver is "based on..." where'd you get it from?

    Help choosing parts!!!

Doesn't look like a bad price, but you might want to consider the size of the driver circuit parts in that picture. They're not surface mount, so you won't be making a slim pointer from it...

    Cool UV laser flourescing(?)

Gah. Because I spelled "fluorescing" wrong? Doh!

    Cool UV laser flourescing(?)

I assume this is some type of fluorescence : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRl6cT-TNwQ (Much cooler than that lame Wonder Woman video I posted earlier. Sorry about that. It was early and my brain was still booting. :))

    Batteries

Why don't you just get 3 10440's and stick them in? That comes out to 11.1 volts... Surely it's within tolerance? I guess fresh batteries might be a little higher, but I have a hard time believing your driver would fry from that.

    Wonder Woman vs. The Laser

I couldn't NOT post this. This seemed to be a semi-appropriate category to put it under. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqSJHnkhn5k

    Lasers Not For Sale

Yeah, that was me. Last January. As for what was on my hands, I can only assume I picked up something at work from all the cheap Chinese plastic crap they sent my at-the-time employer that I unpacked... Or the glycerin-based hand sanitizer I was using... Or the fake snow I was amusing my niece...

    Lasers Not For Sale

Man, I'm glad I didn't read this thread a year ago, (had it existed) I would have been sweating bullets during my TSA experience. Never carry home-built electronics in your luggage when your hands and laptop bags are setting off explosives detectors... Just... Don't... That said, I can't blame...

I had an eye appointment today....

What wattage (I guess in this case, milli-wattage) do you worry about when it comes to "to goggle or not to goggle?" It seems clear from the studies done that the <5mw reds don't do any damage even when deliberate exposure to the retina is made.... Everyone reading this knows our eyes are most...

    Glow in the dark observation

So, I'm shooting my daguin-built 9mw blu-ray at some glow-in-the-dark Crazy Aaron's Thinking Putty (http://www.puttyworld.com) and I noticed the center of the dot is actually a tiny bit dimmer than the edge of where it was... Even trails. I wish I could post a picture, but even if I had it, I'm...

Build a laser out of a DVD burner

Something tells me he doesn't own safety goggles/glasses yet..... Get those first.... <--- Or suffer the Peep's fate, you will.

    Glow in the dark sheet

http://www.puttyworld.com/nuclear.html The Kryton is sitting on my desk and works great. Even from across the room and a mere 9mw blu-ray..

    Why can't I burn stuff?

Bah. A (tiny) laser burn is a burn of honor! (unless it's on your retina, of course) :) (Hey, you know, this forum, above all others, needs a pirate smiley. Or any other smiley with an eye patch) Seriously, though. The cornea is what blocks most of the blu-ray laser light from reaching your...

blu-ray pointer wanted. exch. for kryton barrel?

Re: blu-ray pointer wanted. exch. for kryton barre Hmm. I like, and it sounds much like the one I bought from Daedal, but in a pointer housing. I thought that picture looked familiar... I'd seen the original fire-sale posting you made a while back... 10440 battery? how do I charge it?

blu-ray pointer wanted. exch. for kryton barrel?

Re: blu-ray pointer wanted. exch. for kryton barre Oh no kenom saw the post! :) We may have a winner with daguin... Daguin, is it focussable? I've never owned a leadlight before.. Can you tell me a bit about it? Thanks!!

blu-ray pointer wanted. exch. for kryton barrel?

Hey all, Looking to trade my beautiful Kenom-made Kryton groove barrel for a small, blu-ray pointer. I screwed up the process of moving my blu-ray diode into it. I had previously messed up the leads to a point where they were too fragile to survive the transfer. I don't really have a lot of...
