    solid state x-ray laser

Yeah, many people said "it would't work" to many things in the past, and they were wrong. Of course you wouldn't use normal mirrors, but I'm sure it will be possible. The reason why we're never going to have them in pointer style is that they would be EXTREMELY dangerous of course.

Would you like to advertise on this site?

Personally I don't care that there's a WL ad there. If anyone comes here, look at that ad and buys from them BEFORE posting, don't you think it's nobody's but their own fault? ::) Btw heeby, you don't need a rep to advertise, you need to pay, and your advertisements have to be laser related. :P

decan an 808 and add a DPM?

So you could have a 250mW blue portable that would have the same heat issues and battery life as an RPL :D If that's possible , why don't they make and sell those?

Some beamshost with a D300 and fog

    Fired up @ 2.8A

Nice! How much was it? Are those still on ebay? And how much were your goggles, that I assume you have? Did you have IR goggles from before or did you buy them just for this?

Well if you have a card with money just pay your mother back so she'll let you order stuff with her card, but with your money :P

    Green vs. Violet Blue

blu-ray is just horrible for star pointing, the beam gets so blurry at long distances you can't even see it.

A whole new level of idiot

I wonder how come security didn't beat him senseless. I mean, in a situation like this they should be authorized to break his arms for the sake of the whole crowd. :-/

    Laseer on helium balloon idea

Or you could use a red laser. You'll loose a lot of brightness but at least it fixes the cold problem.Another problem would be ice forming on the lens :-/ Lol, I had an idea in a thread somewhere with a more complex fake UFO with more baloons and LEDs. ;D

    What about Lightscribe Diodes?

There were a few threads about these. They're nothing special. The drive just uses the usual diode for CD or DVD (can't remember) burning for the lightscribe process. They basicly have the same diodes inside. :-/
