Have been asked to pertake in Laser trip wire project

Sprinklers... I think you are looking at a project to keep out animals. Traditional methods like "shock" or electrified fences can cause damage or injury. Anyways, As for laser, you need a 10mW IR. Thats about it. Good for over 100 meters. Works in FOG too! On the receiver type, you have to...

Electro Mechanical Geeks : Would you be interested in a large scale project

There is lot of talent in this forum. People make lasers, devices, and what not. I am a photographer, and as many of you know I am into Timelapses. A few budget camera panning device projects have been successful in kickstarter. Initial price is always around 160-170$ and these devices get...

Time lapse - My Journey-lapse of Norway

Thanks! :beer Norway is very very desolate, and even in the most remote parts you have these long tunnels. Its the first time I ever drove through a tunnel which had a round-about! Talk abut engineering! Heck the Laerdal tunnel is over 24kms and is the longest in the world. I always thought the...

Time lapse - My Journey-lapse of Norway

Thanks Pyro! Flam rain is a scenic rail journey which requires buying a somewhat expensive ticket for a few kms of ride. Alternatively, you can burn fuel instead the road follows the tracks and the scenery is amazing with some waterfalls too. Speaking of narrow roads, Norway has a lot of...

Need help from the hardware Gurus

barn door mount seems to be a great idea! Second is 400:1 gear reduction. I will explore both angles. Accuracy does not matter because I am not doing deep sky astro. Just doing panning time lapse, so want something rotating real real slow!

Need help from the hardware Gurus

Hello fellas As many of you know, I love making Time lapses. If you look at youtube, you will see many time lapses showing actual panning(as opposed to software panning(fake panning effect)). Now, you get devices like Radian and Astro which are programmable and all. However the prices usually...

    Aurora Borealis Time Lapse

Photography is my hobby, so whenever me and my wife go on a trip, the camera goes. This was an Aurora trip to norway. So when you are outside staring at the skies all night long, might as well create a time Lapse :D So to answer your question, its a hobby yes, and I get time for it only on vacation.

Thank you for your comments! I am currently ramping up on my "avisynth skills". I have two more sequences, one of stars and one of clouds. I will stitch everything together to create my Norway Time Laspse. I was always interested in photography, and with the D7000, I decided to get into time...
