I have requested a heatsink build from that guy and is waiting to hear back. For safety glasses, do i need a special build for the 445nm wavelength or could it be one of thoose heavily tinted glasses?

Ok, is there perhaps another host and heat sink that would allow longer duty cycles? So is the heat transfer be the only thing that would prevent this laser from working? I really appreciate you taking this time as well

That host would do fine, but the diode piece on the website says it runs on (2)3.7 volt batteries, so if i am understanding you correctly then, I would need to get an extender to run the 2 18650 batteries. Right?

About me: Live on the east coast and have a love for Lasers I came here for help on a new laser project.

Building my first high powered laser(1w) and I would like to know if there is like an online distributor or something of such or do I just buy a flashlight to use as a host? And what about the heatsink, since much heat would be generated, how would I find a heatsink to fit in a host?
