do you have any experience with this driver?

listing:

i have a IR 808nm diode i need to power.
i intend to drive it at 1,2A which this driver is supposed to do.

my issue is this:

i tested the output first with a single cell 4,2v and a dummy load cosisted of x 3 diode and one 1ohm resistor to check current. this should be in a ballpark of 2,5v which should be around the IR diode voltage.

problem is that i measured:

3,8v across the dummy and 1,2A across dummys resistor..

Amps are good, but voltage is high.. is this normal? should not voltage across dummy be in a range +- of 2,5v with my 3x diode?

also this driver has 3 modes, so another measurement in low mode is
1,4v and 0,3A.
then strobe mode - unmeasurable with my multimeter.

are those readings ok?

will it behave correctly if i connect real load 2-2,5v IR diode?

do you have experience with those ?

The diode will only use the voltage it needs at a given current. It basically auto-regulates. You should be fine.
thank you, i just wonder why i got those readings, as i belive those drivers are supposed to drive the laser diodes, although they didnt mention 3 mode behaviour though..
