This shut down is on Republicans; all they have to do is not take healthcare away from millions of LEGAL American citizens...

Despite what you or your God trump says, that's all the Dems want, BUT the GOP needs to cut that healthcare for millions of Americans to pay for the BIG tax cuts to trump's billionaire buddies like he promised...

Everyone knows this shutdown is on the GOP, and they know why the Dems won't give in, it's for the people!!!!

That's bullshit Aorus, you clearly don't know what you're talking about, republicans aren't taking away anything, republicans keep voting for a clean CR ( THAT'S FUNDING GOVERNMENT WITH ZERO CHANGES TO ANYTHING. ) democrats want 1.5 trillion to squander and to give medical benefits to illegal immigrants, it's not happening.

On a related note, Obamacare sucks shit through a straw, it's too dam expensive and makes rich insurance companies richer, medical profits have doubled since Obamacare.
What we need is cost controls on medical care, like Medicare gets and subsidized Emergency care so people can afford it, yet people pay a small payment, that way it's not wasted, medical care should be a public utility, yes workers earn wages, but nobody should get rich on sickness and human needs.
Also research should be towards curative treatment, not treating people to death and extracting maximum profits.
Obamacare solved none of this, it just gives tax money to wealthy insurance companies and medical is still hella expensive.

Activist judges are those who rule based on personal agendas rather than impartially based on the letter of the law, that's why they keep getting overturned at the SCOTUS, hope you learned something.

These are Federal judges. There are no activists. That's Trump speak for rulings that go against him. $5 billion could find SNAP for a couple weeks fully. And, these judges have ruled that Trump's withholding them is likely illegal. That is not ambiguous.

No undocumented migrants can get any of these benefits. These are more Trump lies. Everyone should be used to that by now as Trump lies more than anyone. I agree that there could be a better way than the ACA, but Republicans have only tried to tear it down. They have absolutely no plans to advance anything better.

No, this SCOTUS rules based on political ideologies. But, the time will come in the next three years when they will have to decide if democracy is worth saving. I'm still hopeful.
 
Democrats want benefits for illegal immigrants, they want to fund states who give illegals benefits, the money would benefit illegal immigrants.

Trump can't legally use the 5b emergency funding for SNAP, democrats need to vote to end the shutdown, or bear the responsibility for people starving this Thanksgiving.

SCOTUS rules based on our Constitution and the law, not feelings, not political agendas like your activist judges.

Right. Undocumented immigrants cannot get any of these benefits. It is totally illegal. Trump has spent $20 billion bailing out Argentina, but he can't give a cent to fund SNAP? Again, you only claim judges are activist when Trump loses.
 
You know even Trump appointed judges have ruled against him. Did they all of a sudden have a come to Jesus moment? I seriously doubt it. Trump is just a crime waiting for a place to happen.

In recent years, the amount of federal money used to provide such care to illegal immigrants has soared.

In 2020, emergency Medicaid spending on illegal immigrants was just $2.06 billion, according to the Foundation for Government Accountability. By 2024, that figure had ballooned to $6.15 billion — quite a bit more than one penny.

California is by far the chief offender, responsible for 74% of emergency Medicaid spending on illegal immigrants. The Golden State has even used emergency Medicaid funds to pay for managed care plans for undocumented immigrants — at a cost to federal taxpayers of nearly $373 million between October 2018 and June 2019.

At the beginning of 2024, all illegal immigrants in California became eligible for Medi-Cal, the state's Medicaid program, thanks to legislation signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA). The state claims it only uses its own funds to cover the cost of coverage for undocumented immigrants. But it can only do so because of the massive amounts of federal Medicaid funding it uses to pay for benefits for the legal Medicaid population.

California sends far more money to the Federal government than they ever get back. Blue states like theirs and NY basically fund red states in this country. And hospitals are required by law to treat people who show up there if they get federal funding. Anyway you try to spin it, these states are funding all the red states across this country.

I send far more money to federal than I get back and I don't want my tax dollars paying for benefits for illegal invaders who take from people who have earned it, who impact our elections, who came in illegally.

If foreigners want US benefits, then they need to immigrate legally, remember we are a nation of laws and nobody is above the law.

I want the illegal invaders deported as do the majority of American voters....... and paul, it's the law.

That said, any human being who needs life saving care, should be treated, and if an illegal, promptly deported.

If you don't like our laws, then vote to change them, but don't expect to get to pick and choose which laws apply and which don't.

Democrats want to make illegals comfortable, because illegals impact our elections, illegals cheat American voters out of their vote, democrats are cheaters, liars and hypocrites.

You are not a state. Without blue states, red states wouldn't have money coming from the government. They are the reason so many red states get any money at all. Actually, no undocumented immigrants vote in any national elections. Trump is the greatest liar, cheater and hypocrite alive. At least for the present. And, by that I mean still alive. If it wasn't for red farms, blue cities would starve, republicans hold the majority of the land mass, but none of this changes the law, illegals will be deported because it's the law, and illegals have no business receiving food stamps or medical benefits beyond the odd emergency room care in immediate need cases.
