    Reflected laser hit the eye

Laser damage can appear to be distortions, blind spots, permanent visual artifacts. I have myself blind spots which are small but I can see them if I try to read text ( IE looks at " at " and " at " is a blur/vanishes " in that eye ) My shop mate closes his eye and he sees a brighter spot where...

    Osram PL530 - Tiny 530nm OPSL

Another thing to note about heater questions. I believe the material is PTC so it should be best voltage regulated with feedback. PCT will increase resistance when heated, thus if you try to run them in current mode you can't really lock in a good temp. There are 2 ways to best do this. First...

    Osram PL530 - Tiny 530nm OPSL

I did use the original expanding lens, it looks like I have a long focal range but collimating is actually about 8 mm from the expanding lens. The reason why it looks like I have a long range is because the pointer chassis is extended to make room for the door cover. Otherwise I could of cut...

    Osram PL530 - Tiny 530nm OPSL

Thank you! I am not one to keep information back, I think it's delicious and should be shared with others.

    Osram PL530 - Tiny 530nm OPSL

For anyone looking to make one of these into a laser pointer here is my full build video. I hope this helps others who are looking to do the same!

    Osram PL530 - Tiny 530nm OPSL

It's an 808 pump, and the upside of an OPSL is that it's not to fussy on the pump cause it's doubled off the wavelength coming from the OPSL chip/DBR. With that said if you where careful it is possible to remove the pump diode and fashion a higher output on in place of it. This could be...

    Osram PL530 - Tiny 530nm OPSL

With the expander that comes with the unit you can collimate the beam using a 532nm DPSS collimating lens, it's focus is 6-10mm away from the factory expander.

Here is what I just finished off tonight, has anyone else finished pointer? full build video on YouTube coming soon. Worlds first OPSL Laser Pointer?

    red/pink????

I'd be foolish to do this for fame and riches, this is a single step and I'm aware it's a step I will not outright win, it is a step though to being taken somewhat seriously and to watch a project I designed do more then simply sit on my shelf and collect dust. I have talked to legal council and...

    red/pink????

just because an idea is based off an older idea does not mean the application of an idea in a new way is any less considered IP I stand to profit off this at this point, and this method is probably the most compact method and capable of producing pink/magenta pointers of any power with the...

    red/pink????

I know I walk a very fine line, I also realize not moving anywhere with an idea get me nowhere ultimately. I have not yet sent off any physical prototypes to wicked lasers or any highly detailed information until the physical NDA that does specifically include biding by intellectual property...

    red/pink????

I just started prototyping pink laser pointers using a new merging system, I'm in the middle of securing a deal with Steve Liu of wicked lasers for the rights to the design. Pink laser pointers no bigger then an ebay laser pointer are very doable actually. Expect pink laser pointers this year.
