    50mW Cat Toy

I have found my cat likes a uncolimated beam with a spot about 3-6 inches wide. Cats vision is not that good, but to make up for poor vision their eyes are hyper sensitive to any movement. Cats are more sensitive to the upper region of the color spectrum, so a 10mW 3-6 inch spot humans can...

    6x Blu-Ray burner for $229!?!

The GGW-H20L supports HD DVD reading, while this new cheaper version (GBW-H20L) doesn't support the failed HD DVD format. Other than that, they are the same. I need to backup software and data that is valued over 1/2 million. So the backups go into 2 fireproof safes and once and a while I burn...

    6x Blu-Ray burner for $229!?!

Just got one a few hours ago at CC for 229.99 +tax. For now, I need it for backing up all my valuable software. Buring 5 DVD+dl's weekly was getting old real fast. per the owners manual, the "L" at the end denotes litescribe capable, while "E" is the non-lightscribe version/drive.

    Cleaning the lens?

its kinda hard to find, but they sell 99% alcohol at some walgreens or meijer. For dust on a lens, i use a camel hair paint brush and a can of air

    Fireflies attracted by green laser

Fireflies have just started to appear around here, but witin the next month there should be millions if not billions here in Indiana. They like to hang out in the cornfields just after it gets dark. They look real cool, as I get to see them everynight on my way home from work. Driving down a...

    803T...15min use=LED...back from the dead!?!?!

I bet your batteries or power supply had a bad connection when you thought ya had turned it into a LED. Probably a fluke thing

Best way to mod a Surefure E2E

I've taken the E2L (LED head) and in the process of using the driver for the factory 1 watt LED to power a 20X red diode. The Surefire LED head being used is the 1 watt older style from a few years ago. It drives the red 20X laser diode at about 350 mA. The diode gets pretty warm after 30...

    Open can diode.

If you are using an Aixiz module, just press the diode in with the oposite end of the Aixiz module - the end with the little hole in it using an adjustable open jaw wrench. I've pressed 3 blu-ray diodes and one 20x open can using this method. Just be real carefull and align everything up...

    Blu-ray SUNBURN! whoops!

How long was the beam on your skin to produce a sunburn? How long would it take a 90mW blu-ray to give a burn like that?

    Blu-Ray Rainbow *update*

Re: Blu-Ray Rainbow First, nice job on your laser. Nice and professional looking. I notice when I point my blu-ray laser at darker stained wood, it displays weird colors - not really florscent tho.... Fom Indiana here, and it's pop as well ;) there is a website that breaks down State by...

    Green Military Laser on Ebay

Guys, if it's new and from the Military on eBay - DO NOT BUY IT. It's stolen PERIOD. None of the US branches will sell ANYTHING online - PERIOD. If a Military item is used, be very suspicious if it's newer type used gear. That Military laser was pulled by eBay - hmmmmm It's not fun waking up...

    hd drive

Thank you and all the others that have answered my questions. I think for now I'm going to run my DT0811 at 50mA While the PHR will stay at 80-90 for now. These seem safe levels with heat sinking of the diode using an Aixiz housings that FINALLY showed up today. Thanks again guys

    optoelectronics manufacturers in China......

The quality of Chinese electronics has gotten better than vs. 10 years ago. Once NAFTA was signed into law, factories in China sprouted up over night (seriously!!) Many being electronics production/factories. These factories and manufacturing plants were not ISO900x certified. The quality of...

    hd drive

Using a current meter hooked up to the main power supply (not the LD itself) is showing 30mA for a very dim dot, and when turned up to 35mA the laser diode gets much brighter to the point I can see the beam very very faintly in a dark room. I'm just wondering how high I can go without blowing it...

    hd drive

What would be a safe current (mA) to run the DT0811 diode. Don't have a power meter yet. I've seen mention of no more than 35mA, which would not produce the mentioned 50mW output. Recommendations on safe current level please.
