After being off for a long time, I was looking into getting another laser but I'd like to figure out how bright a 445 will be to say, a 532. The calculator here isn't up anymore though. Is there anything similar?
This is kind of a generic post, and you seem like you have a good Idea of whats going on, but just remember to use eye protection when you get to the more powerful lasers.
Lets say you had a diode mounted to a heatsink that was 100% efficient in removing excess heat from the diode. What else limits the amount of current that you put through?
So a few weeks ago I ordered one of those ebay "5 mW" 405's knowing that it would be overpowered, but what I got is more than I expected. I dont have a LPM, but how many mw's do you think it is if I can see the beam in my room with the lights on? It would have to be at least 100+mW right?
To the people saying to use red and violet, or any other color for that matter, wouldn't they require different voltages? or do they make violet modules that run at the same voltage as reds?
