Marketing Firm Beats Wicked's Customer Service

I take it Wicked has not improved at all? I like my G1 Arctic, the Spyder host is interesting and still works like it did when I got it. No problems with the laser itself. However that 3 month period of uncertainty was agony and highly unprofessional behavior, I won't give them any more...

Marketing Firm Beats Wicked's Customer Service

My laser collection has taken a back seat this year to my lust for higher frame rates in Team Fortress 2. Thanks to my gaming addiction I've not even logged in here in at least 6 months. While I'm here seeking a host kit for a 405 build I thought I might share a story I found during work today...

Wicked Lasers Spyder III ARCTIC - my review

It's nice to see Wicked sorted out the QC issues. Though I must say my G1 is performing perfectly and I've had it since August. One of the lucky ones I suppose.

6 months later, got my Arctic

My G1 took just under two months to show up. It had been focused properly and wasn't heavy on thermal paste. Recently scored a nospin LPM and learned my unit outputs a fairly steady 930-960mW, peaking to almost 980. I need to test it again with freshly charged cells. Congrats on getting your...

Yet another - Wicked Lasers Arctic Spyder III laser review - [very image heavy!!]

Excellent review. It's nice to see WL attempting to improve their product, I remember all the crappy units they sent out initially. I wish they would have sent proper safety glasses but I ordered some fitovers from laserglow because I wear glasses. I ordered my Arctic mid June and opted for a...

Review: Jayrob P19 custom focusing host 405nm

Looks great. I'm waiting on one of these kits for a 445nm build. :san:

    Challenge: cool experiments with 445nm

Anyone attempt a hologram with the 445 diodes? Surely ~1W would be enough light to get it done.

Care and feeding of your Arctic beast part (G)2

Nice review. Thanks for taking the time to measure the basic lenses individually.

    Ebay $9 blu-ray pens: GREAT!

The likelihood of it showing up at his door outputting just 1mW of 405nm light isn't great.

Review of the Rayfoss RF532-350mW-FGB (pic heavy)

I figured as much, just had to pull your chain a bit. Maybe I should hold off on that til I have more posts and have developed a reputation. Sucks they tried to jerk you around so much, was that your first purchase from Rayfoss?

Review of the Rayfoss RF532-350mW-FGB (pic heavy)

What about the warranty sticker on the back?

    Ebay $9 blu-ray pens: GREAT!

An old biconvex Nikon lens we've had sitting around the house forever. It's got some anti-reflective coating on it and it works well with all my lasers. It says 20dptr. on the side, I want to assume that's Nikon's abbreviation for diopter. Here it is next to a regular BIC for size comparison...

    Ebay $9 blu-ray pens: GREAT!

Mine just arrived, works great. Beam is visible in a dark room and the dot is very clean. As for being 5mW, using a lens to focus the focus the beam I've popped a balloon and smoked paper. Thanks again for the link, Calphor.

    Ebay $9 blu-ray pens: GREAT!

The one I ordered should be here tomorrow. I ordered one from Calphor's link, anyone else get one in their hands yet? Can they be tinkered with, maybe tuned up a little?

    Is your arctic still functioning?

Mine still works, removed the filter from the training lens to eliminate reflections back into the diode and also picked up better batteries.
