Getting ready to start doing some experimenting with my nm445. What's the coolest experiment you have done with your laser? We all know the common ones like burning a match, steel wool, candle, popping balloons, burning wood, lighting up sparklers, exploding firecrackers, lighting gunpowder, or...
Guys,
What are a few pointers to consider when using a laser to prolong it's life?
I want to start a quick list.
1) pay attention to the duty cycle.
2) ??
I dont know the name of them but I'm sure a lot of us have played with the cheapie fleamarket lasers that have all those cool attachment thingies you screw on the cap and they project an image on the wall. My question is are these "attachment thingies" available for lasers of greater power? And...
Re: New 1-2W 445nm Black Ice Lasers starting at $110 free US shipping
Is the 1.9W still available. I'd like that with the G2, goggles, charger. PM sent. What were the actual results with a G2 on the 1.9W??
I have a serious question but really how much more dangerous is a 50mw compared to a 1W or 2W. Both will blind you. Both can burn your skin. Both are extremely dangerous if not handled properly. I'm a noob not trying to be sarcastic but what am I missing.
Can someone clarify for me what are some of the differences I would notice between a 1W and 2W 445nm laser?
Is the stream that much more visible? Is the burning power double??? How much more visible is it? Things like that what can I expect?
Would a Blue laser pop a balloon better at 8ft as compared to a green laser of similar capabilities?
It's not technically my first laser but I want to get a bit more into the hobby. So for all intensive purposes I'm a total noob. I have several cheapie fleamarket gold lasers with all sorts of...
Thanks for the info. And yes I agree that there are much better tools out there to do the job but their not nearly as cool. :yh: I do have a quick question though why blue over green or red? What properties does a blue laser have or a green or red? And what could I expect to pay for one.
Thanks for all the info. I'll check it out and do some research. I don't know if I really want to build one. I'm looking for something portable something that I can take hiking or on a boat. I have a lot of reading to do.
Very cool tricks. Thanks for the info.
