Suggestion to all LPF Members regarding Reps

I think this is a great idea. I have only repped people a few times since joining the site, but have been helped tremendously on numerous occasions. I think I will go back and rep several of those whose old posts I learned from even when I wasn't part of the discussion!

Need help which laser to buy

What characteristics are most important to you? These two look pretty similar. I would try searching the forum for feedback on these two vendors as that is probably the main difference between the two lasers themselves.

Please Help! New laser kit won't fire up. What am I doing wrong?

Yep, I feel like a doof because I KNEW that. Work fried my brain today. Anyways, it works, AND IT'S GLORIOUS!!! I want to point it from here to a nearby mountain, as well as across the frozen sea for some cool first pics. Do you think it is reasonably safe to take my goggles off outside...

Please Help! New laser kit won't fire up. What am I doing wrong?

I only took it apart down to that piece that says "lattice bright ver2.0." I sure hope that is supposed to come out though, because a piece just broke off after several attempts at reseating the laser assembly. UPDATE: I am strongly fighting the urge to delete this post as I am a bit...

Please Help! New laser kit won't fire up. What am I doing wrong?

UPDATE- SOLVED: I am strongly fighting the urge to delete this post as I am a bit embarrassed. But I am only leaving it in the event someone else makes the same mistake. I just got a new laser kit. It is a 4 mode 445nm 3-3.5W with a copper heat sink. It came with both 1 and 3 element lenses...

Buying the best batteries-A (potentially unfounded) dilemma

That is awesome info. Thank you! Based on some recommendations from around the forum I ended up getting some KeepPower Panasonic protected 3400mah's from Illumn. Hopefully they do the job.

Buying the best batteries-A (potentially unfounded) dilemma

Thanks man! I've got no problem paying for quality. But not if more than half the value is in the label.

Buying the best batteries-A (potentially unfounded) dilemma

Numerous people around the forum, most recently Pi R Squared I believe, have stressed the importance of buying the best batteries you can afford. I was about to order these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...A38GBW24HDG5AI because of all the fancy charts and statistics, but in the top...

    Custom built laser

Hmm... Where to start...A variety of lasers in a variety of powers and wavelengths will burn flash paper. Black paper or a black dot on the paper will make it much easier. The lighter the paper, the more powerful your laser will need to be. Full disclosure: I knew nothing about burning flash...

[NEW MEMBER] Greetings from East USA

Welcome man. I know how you feel. I am very excited for my new 3.5W 445 kit to arrive so I can become a child again. I plan to take some "across the frozen sea" pics to so I am hoping they turn out ok. For love of the beam.
