Well I feel comfortable taking my lasers now, other posts have people saying they have taken their lasers on without incident. Though I am not going to push my luck and try to bring my 1kg tungsten cube on with me lol.
Sorry thought stating the flight was in the USA is enough. CA to TX and on return TX to CA. Most stuff I found online says that I should be fine and like paul1598419 said, if asked say its a LED flashlight. And I'll be carrying the lasers separate from the batteries. The lasers are a 1w 520nm...
I am visiting some friends next month and was wondering if I would run into any problems bringing some of my lasers and batteries packed in my carry-on bag on the flight. The flight is in the USA.
This is what I am looking at getting atm

or this

Or something similar.
I do not plan on leaving the laser running for long periods of time, and a moderately short duty cycle is fine for me, I just want something I can fit in my pocket. Thanks for the advice.
Edit: And TBH I was so excited when i got my 1000mw 520nm, that my first heatsync was aluminum foil, thick...
I will be using the 22mm heat sync from DTR's shop, I believe it will be sufficient. And the life of the 18350s is good enough for me, I care more about compactness.
Thanks for the input.
Thank you.
I new to the idea of these mech mods and would love some good advice. What mods do you use that can hold 2x 18350 batteries? And what concerns are there with using unregulated vs regulated mods? I have some diodes with drivers from DTR's shop that I'd like have a home for.
Edit: And will these...
I have had a 1w 520nm laser diode with a driver from DTR's shop for a while now and have been using 2x 18350's. I made a crummy heatsync out of a block of aluminum but it was not very great. I just connected the driver's leads to a switch and the batteries and it worked just fine. I was just...
I ordered some of the 22mm heatsinks for the 12mm copper modules from DTR's site and was looking to find a simple "mechanical mod" to attach to the 510 thread adapter. I am looking for something that can use both 1x 18650 and 2x 18350 batteries(or just 2x 18350's) that has no voltage or wattage...
Thanks for all the replies, I think I got all the info I need. Again I will not be doing this for a month so if I decide to buy a host instead of building my own it wont be for a while. Thank you all.
I will be buying the NDG7475 1W 520nm Laser Diode In 12mm Copper Module W/Driver from DTR's Laser shop in about a month, and was looking for some pointers cause this is my first build.
I was wondering the things I need to build a proper host, I plan on machining whatever parts I can but aside...
