The switch is indeed loose. I wasn't sure if it was meant to be or not though. I'm not sure how to get to it inside the tailcap, but I'll try to figure it out. :)
Edit: Figured it out and tightened it up. It worked! Thankyou so much! (and to everyone else who tried to help :))
I hadn't tried it when it isn't screwed on tightly, but I have now you've suggested it and it didn't work :(
And yes, the cap seems to screw on the same amount regardless if the batteries are in the laser or not.
Thankyou for the suggestions, though! :)
I've tried screwing the cap on tighter and working it until a connection is made, but unless I have it positioned as it is in the pic I posted it just doesn't turn on.
I don't have access to a continuity tester but will ask around and see if anyone I know has one.
Thanks for the help :)
Hello everyone,
I received my new 1.5W blue laser yesterday. Very happy with everything, but there's a small problem with the tailcap.
Here's a picture of the position I need to have the tailcap in relation to the battery/laser to get a connection and for it to turn on. Part of the tailcap...
A few months late with my reply, a lot of stuff came up after I'd posted this thread, but thanks for the help everyone!
I've taken the advice and inquired to get one from Blord.
And yes I will happily write a review when I've received it. :)
Thankyou all again for the help!
Thanks Jerry!
Made sure to read the stickies and rules, so no problems there. I already have some safety goggles, but after reading about some of the accidents that have happened with lasers I may get some better quality ones. These are what I have been using, and they work wonders for my...
Thanks hak. I live in the UK if that helps, and I've updated my profile with that info. I have also made a thread in the Welcome section. Sorry it was a little delayed, I'm just trying to find my way around. I'll be checking BS&T, and I am considering the laser TheDukeAnumber1 suggested. Thanks...
Hello everyone!
I've been getting increasingly interested in lasers recently, and came across this forum. It seemed like a friendly community, so I thought that I would join up!
Wow. Reading over this thread really emphasizes the importance of safety goggles. I'm glad I've already ordered mine, and I don't have my laser yet.
Best of luck to you Xoul, hopefully this will improve over time, or will atleast become tolerable. :)
Hey everyone,
I've been searching around for a 1000mW laser rescently, but I really don't know who to trust, and who not to. What price are we generally looking at for a 1000mW blue laser? I saw a 2000mW laser for $42, but it seems too good to be true. I would be willing to spend around $150...
