hi, does anywhere else sell diodes like stonetek does, but the better ones? if you know what i mean! my diode from stonetek died at 180mA after about 30mins use (in total, over 2days)

could it of been anything to do with the 6 mi-mh batterys i used? they dont seem to output 1.2v more like 1.3v? i just turned the pot on my other laser, down to about 120mA so hopefully that one will live longer! where can i get a better quality diode? doe anyone else sell them apart from...

is there a way to check on a multimeter if the diode is still functional?

hi everyone. i had my laser on for about 30 seconds then the dot went very dim! it still projects onto the wall, but very faintly! has the diode died? it was running 179.4mA

oh ok thanks. i might try the AC/DC supply. OMG i actually didnt even knotice that was a real heatsink! where on earth did you get that from?

in that picuture i have 5 AA alkaline batterys, + 1 wier shorting, acting as a battery. it is a 6 AA housing. but i have 6 ni-mh in there now:) ive just found a transparent case for my next one. its all working i just need to drill holes, and ill post pics later!

I got my order from stonetek through today. I recieved 1 x diode in aixiz housing, 1 x diode and 1x starfield diffraction grating. This is my Smaller driver board (2nd driver i made) Diode in aixiz housing Parts to be soldered together This is my Multimeter reading across a 1ohm resistor...

Well ive finished it and it works very well. well im pleased with it! i set it up to 180mA but i dont know what mW it is. I have added some photos of my project in the multimedia section! i will be taking beam shots and a photo of my difraction grating tomorow...

would i then have to re adjust my pot on my driver?

will be using 7.2v, 6nimh?
