    Thanks DTR!

Don't know about the material, but the + pin seems readily wettable with standard electronics solder.

    Another Wicked Lasers disaster.

You could almost definitely get 2W for less than $375 here. Not sure about the 100% duty cycle, it'd need some pretty solid heat dissipation, but I think someone would be willing to do it if you're going to throw that much money at it haha. I've never really been certain about those links, I...

    Thanks DTR!

Sorry for the late response, I managed to fry my diode within an hour of posting this :D DTR, being the wonderful person he is, exchanged it with a new module for just the cost of a new diode. :bday: The new module is evidently part of a new run that has an enlarged focus adapter machined from...

    Thanks DTR!

Got my 405nm 510 module from DTR today, the mech mod I ordered showed up at the same time. Added the G9 lens I got a couple days ago for a nice increase in beam strength. Absolutely in love with this setup :sold:. I just need my goddamn charger to get here so I can run it off a fully charged...

Waterproof hosts for DIY scuba lasers

Nice! Don't really have much to add, but let us know how they turn out!

    1.5W Police Host Laser Repair

I only used 18AWG for the switch. I didn't even actually replace the broken wires between the driver and diode, just reconnected them and put heat-shrink on it. My soldering is still too indiscriminately melty :yabbem:

It stopped working a couple months ago, I finally got around to opening it up and found that the wiring for the switch was no longer in existence :wtf:. Just finished fixing it though!!!!! Looked up how to solder and went out and got myself an iron and supplies and spent a solid few hours...

    1.5W Police Host Laser Repair

GOT IT!!!! :D:D:D I may have gone a bit overboard with the wire, I upgraded to 18 gauge haha, and there are a couple pieces that are slightly melted/burnt, BUT IT WORKS! I didn't expect my first soldering project to go quite so well, or be that fun. You guys have me hooked... :thanks:

Thanks guys:yh: Practicing my newfound soldering skills so I can try to fix my 445

I guess I missed posting here when I created this count last year... But anyway, Hi everyone! My name is Ali (Ah-Lee not Allie, I happen to possess a Y chromosome:D), I live in the Metro Detroit region of Michigan. I'm currently a student and working part time in IT. I own a 1.5W 445nm...

    1.5W Police Host Laser Repair

Thanks for the advice SBA! Many prayers are being made :worthy: I'm pretty sure it's an easy fix, but my experience is somewhat minimal so I wanted to touch base with someone here. I appreciate the offer Blord, if it gets too complicated I might have to take you up on that haha :scared: Either...

    1.5W Police Host Laser Repair

I bought one of the 1.5W Police Host lasers that BLord had up a while back. Sometime in December I was having some issues getting it to function properly (flickering, brownouts, etc), eventually when I tried to turn it on I got a puff of smoke... At the time I set it aside, intending on...
