Same here, until I started using 1W Luxeons I never saw what whas going on around here. Will use a 3mm indication led on my laser box though, so as not to take away to much power from the batteries.

First of all, I would like to say that we really need a real datasheet on SLD1236VL diodes, but it cant be found anywhere. The file posted as a datasheet everywhere, isn't a datasheet, it's a press release and lacks a lot of vital information, which should be present in a real one...
