Driving camcorder viewfinder CRT with soundcard DAC

Firstly I don't know if there really is a section to post this project in? Just a fun little project I put together in an evening. I found an old camcorder viewfinder CRT laying around in my "junkbox" so I thought I'd try to adapt it to my soundcard DAC. First thing I did was finding out power...

steppers in spiro for precise control?

And if I've understood OP correctly s/he wants stable RPM control

steppers in spiro for precise control?

Since it has been a while since I messed around with these servos I don't remember the specifics of the controller. But I recall that the further the feedback pot was away from center the faster the motor spin and it kept it's RPM pretty stable at diffrent positions. Only difficult thing with...

steppers in spiro for precise control?

Morgan, I didn't mean that you drive them from the geared down servo output shaft. I meant drive them directly on the motor inside the servo. I have been experimenting with these kind of servos a few years ago, taking them apart and testing and whatnot. When they are in center position without...

steppers in spiro for precise control?

One thing that came to my mind is using cheap hobby servos to control the motorspeed. Ie. glue tiny frontsurface mirrors on those tiny motors inside the servos and use the position potentiometer to change speed of motor. Anyone tried this?

30kpps scanner and DAC demonstrating Winamp oscilloscope

With EzAudDac it shouldn't be that hard to accomplish diffrent colors with blanking and all. I'm just not sure if it's possible to intergrate it in a plugin and run it in winamp. I bet there is a bunch of examples on how to get level triggering to work online... I will look deeper into this...

30kpps scanner and DAC demonstrating Winamp oscilloscope

Thanks! Scanner is wired according to ILDA standard, like the DAC I'm using aswell. Morjens! :)

30kpps scanner and DAC demonstrating Winamp oscilloscope

Really nice! You could try to play around with color settings in LFI to get blanking working properly. Or "Blanking" in abstract control panel. Thought have actually struck me to project it on ground (I live on 4:th floor) from balcony, that would look awesome on a dark night! You're right...

30kpps scanner and DAC demonstrating Winamp oscilloscope

The scope doesn't have any trigger at all, it just sweeps what is fed to the galvo amp. But it looks neat anyway. Triggering is one thing that could be fixed with winamp plugin but appearantly I cannot get any c++ compiler to work on this windows vista, so I cannot even try out winamp SDK...

Trying to do any laser related stuff while drunk

I do not think of my knowing how to handle lasers (with properly safety glasses and all!) like some kind of ability as you say... I merely ask has somebody like me (with safety glasses and all) tried or had the impulse to try and experiment with lasers under the influence of some kind of...
