FS: 1000 Lumen XM-L T6 Maglite Mod With Voltage Monitor - Parts, or Complete Light!

Jay, I received my 2 D maglight build the other day. What a incredible professional build! No one could ever guess this is a custom build. I will enjoy for years to come. Thanks so much. Doug

Harvested some batteries, what are they?

My Dell battery packs are wired Qty 4 3.7v cells in series for 14.8 volts at 2240 ma, A second set wired the same matched in parallel to double the current to 4480 ma total still at 14.8 volts. A mismatch in the voltage (and current?) may trigger the battery installed in the computer as...

A140 diodes in stock! Not a GB! $42.50 Shipped!

Mine came the other day. Thanks! Doug

Looking for some Eneloops & charger

These are great Batteries. I use them in Amateur HT radios. They claim less recharge cycles (1.500) but boast 1.6 volts at around 2000ma (2A). A source with 8 AA and 4 AAA and Charger: Amazon.com: Sanyo Eneloop Ni-MH Charger and 8 Rechargeable AA and… I hear to be available at XCostcoX...

1 Watt 445nm - Flashing on and off?

The MicroBoost manual says: Input Voltage Range 2.7 - 5.5 volts Link: http://hacylon.case.edu/ebay/laser_diode/Micro%20Boost%20Drive%20V1%20manual.pdf You will be fine with 3 D cells at 4.5 volts total. Doug

    Coherent LaserCheck LPM with 445nm.

leukoplast I have this LPM. I have never had a problem with this meter until we begun to reach it's limit of 1 watt. (1000mw) With my latest 445nm build at 900mw + the readings are not reliable IMO. I have even gotten reading such as 010 that I assume is a rollover. Doug

    18650 Battery Help

The flashing is most likely the thermal protection built into the driver. I have had this happen and now have my driver heat sinked as well as the diode. Another possible cause if you are using a protected battery cell and drawing a high current. The protection can cause this as well. I have...

    My 445nm build custom DIY

I finished machining a new heatsink combo for the A140 diode and V1 micro boost driver. I potted the driver onto a aluminum bar and then potted the bar and driver assembly into the 50 gram finned aluminum heatsink. Note I kept the adjustment exposed for adjusting later. This assembly will go...

    AixiZ 445nm lens...

I contacted Chuck myself about the lens. His reply: "Dear ff-racer, It?s a darn long and painful story that thankfully is resolved. Address for replacement? The ones you received were part of the 100 unit incorrect coated batch that was not supposed to go out. They are 85% efficient at 455 FYI...

    AixiZ 445nm lens...

I also purchased via Ebay. Mine arrived this past Monday. Swapped out the G-1 lens from a previous build. As others have found the power was way less than I expected. After reading this post I remembered I still had a 650nm lens from a year ago that I had never used. Yup! it is the same. Same...

    Post your mA and mW

HMike, What method do you use to plot your data. Should we try to establish some sort of recommended method for those of us that have high end test equipment? (I know my LaserCheck has met it's end of life). I am just wondering... Measure Voltage threshold, were to start Ma supply, cycle...

    Purchasing crystal sets

I have one from an old 150mw pen. The crystal is about 1mm x 1mm and the brass mount is about 7.5mm round and 3mm deep. PM if interested. Doug

    Post your mA and mW

Mike, Yes same diode source. I had talked to Dr Lava telling him my 1st attempt to plot both the diode and my LaserCheck became so hot I did not trust the readings. I did some reading and saw David's suggestion to pause a bit between reading so each run was the same method. My second test took...

    Post your mA and mW

Yes, I had the reading on the digital power supply in addition to separate volt and Amp meters to verify the readings. I also kept track of the module temperature by giving the diode a rest between tests. I never saw the temperature above 100 deg F. I believe this is similar to how David had...

    List of 445nm diodes

    I had made a post over on the Post your mA and mW # 202. Here is a condensed version for your chart. Used regulated bench PS and G-1 glass. |* Volts *|* MA * | Pwr-1 | Pwr-2 | Pwr-3 | Average | | 3.81v | 300ma | 148mw | 133mw | 133mw | 138mw...
