My goodness, one of the correct answers for the longest name was me and I didn't even realize it! :p
Good job Arg!
Never thought my tag was so long and unwieldy when I created it.
Hope this is not too off topic:
I think I might be the only one here since I have never heard anyone mention this but I have always felt an after effect on the skin of my face for a couple hours afterwards from the reflected light of a 1W+ 445nm when burning up close. Feels a little bit like a...
When I was younger, the "bad" kids in our high school used to go across the border down to Lummi Island and buy them on the Reservation in the U.S., then come back to Canada and sell it to kids at school about 4x the price. I remember paying $20 for a brick of bottle rockets and it seemed really...
Nice job on the 520nm! :)
I actually don't mind the look of the thicker beam on it. It almost reminds me of an O-like 532nm with built in beam expander that I got a while back. (Hope you don't mind me posting a pic to show what I mean..)
What kind of lens are you using and what driver did you...
Lazeerer that is really helpful and nice of you to take the time to make that video! :)
I think it would be really interesting as well to see photos or video for comparison of each of the beams of 445nm, 405nm and 638nm using the various lenses LFL, G2, and 3 Element to get a sense of the...
Thanks for the welcome back! Hope you are doing well. I really appreciate all your help with my driver heatsinking questions and also for the link to the electronics tutorial!
While we are on the topic of the ubiquitous "cheap" modules being used almost universally , do you guys considers a company like Sky Laser to be a bit better than Lazerer then, or do they use some of the same "cheaper" modules as well?
Better quality companies like Jetlasers for example...
Oh, wow that link is great!
Looks like some really good reading and exactly what I have been hoping to find! Thanks a bunch!
:topic:
I'll leave the floor now to the opening poster. ;)
Thank you very, very much again for your help! I really appreciate the time you took to add the pictures and links.
I think I should try and find a book or an online resource relating to electronics. I often wonder how everyone here learned so much about the subject. I...
:thanks:
That is very helpful, I still have not built my first laser but these little bits of info are immensely helpful to fill in the gaps of missing pieces of understanding for me.
Do all drivers have this same component? Can you just feel for the heat with your fingers to see what parts...
Thought I might just ask here rather than make a new thread.... I'm embarrassed to ask this but what / where is the IC on the driver board? :o
I hope you don't mind me jumping in on your thread, I have been curious about how to properly heat sink these as well and wondering where the IC is. :p
Really nice job documenting the build with great pics.
You mentioned that the beam with the 3 element lens was really impressive. Since you have both, how do you find the beam with the g-2 compared to the 3 element? I was wondering if the overall increase in output using the G-2 makes the...
