    KTB-30W soldering iron.

This was one of my first soldering irons, I've had it for years and it still works fine; never even had to change the tip. As far as I know, there is only one size of tip... I got mine from here: ABRA Electronics  :: Soldering :: Soldering Irons :: Quality Soldering Iron-30W

How can this dispute be resolved with Dr Lava

Daguin - I'm going to have to disagree with you; the driver was sold under the assumption that it's preset at 550mA. If it outputs anything more or less than 550mA, it is technically defective. Yes, the components should be checked before assembly but the equipment or technical expertise may not...

    new moderator?

So, why do we need more than one mod? Simon has been doing a good enough job so far; a small/ temporary influx of stupid noobs/trolls doesn't quite justify commissioning another mod... To be honest, Simon is one of the very few members who are extremely level-headed, unbiased and abstain from...

How can this dispute be resolved with Dr Lava

Did you explicitly ask for the current to be preset? Did you at least receive a reply/confirmation stating that the current has been preset? If so, I don't see why Drlava wouldn't compensate you for the two diodes...

    2 phr's......

Jenner6989 - If you want people to take you seriously, here are a few "rules" to follow: 1) Search before asking a question. 2) Search before asking a question. 3) Search before asking a question. 4) Do not start 50 treads to ask 50 questions; one tread titled "I have a few questions" or...

Questions about my cheap green Laser pointer

Most "ebay 5mw lasers" actually output anywhere from 10-30mw; I had one that put out 42mw once. I would advise the OP the have it metered and turned down if necessary.

    A typo or a lie?

Your apologies are commendable but you still have not addressed the underlying problem; dishonesty. Both "incidents" are cases of dishonesty and deception; the circumstances under which they occurred are irrelevant. I understand that selling something at a loss can be painful but think about the...

    A few questions

Running a diode with a resistor to regulate current is risky; you diode will last anywhere from 1 year to one second. Also, you are relying on the internal resistance of the battery to regulate current, merely changing the battery could easily kill the diode. A simple LM317 (DDL) driver as...

    A typo or a lie?

As sincere as you sound, are you only sorry because you were caught? If your auction wasn't discovered would you still have removed it? You were trying to make a buck at someone else's expense; you should be apologizing to the bidders, not us... As for the tread I "brought up", it goes to show...

    A typo or a lie?

Potatorage has been proven himself a dishonest individual in the past; I'm surprised people still deal with him... http://laserpointerforums.com/f63/named-shamed-massive-info-thread-43753.html

    Anyone here is audiophile?

Razako - Are those KT88s in push pull configuration? Here's my home built amp: For the curious, the funny looking tube are 832A's...

That coil thing is an air core inductor or an RF output transformer; it's probably off a HF transmitter.

    Issues with LaserGlow

Murudai - If I where you, I would ask for a refund if possible. I had a whole load of money tied up for 8 months for some alleged "repairs". I end up getting a completely different unit (And was told that it was "rebodied") that was just as underpowered as the previous unit. I asked for a...

Laser beam profiler - CCD sernsor vs. 5mW beam

Most CMOS and CCD sensors are extremely sensitive; you will probably saturate the detector if you shine a laser at it... Have you considered using a high OD filter of some sort?
