    I don't know how to determine the limits of a duty cycle, but I just shined it for 70 seconds and it was only beginning to get warm.

    Hmm. Well after the pop off, I applied a little liquid flux, clamped it back in place with an alligator clip and heated the sides with the iron for a guesstimated 10 seconds or so. It stayed in place and works...for now.
