    HELP!!!!! Please read :'(

Wannaburnstuff: Of course the offer still stands. The wrist straps are in the drawer waiting, if you want to send them to me, but then again...DTR and many of the others have a lot more experience working with and/or repairing those particular diodes. Still, I would love to give it a try, and...

    HELP!!!!! Please read :'(

No one kicked him in the nuts, relax. Wannaburnsomething: If that post offended you, PM or publicly let me know and I'll delete it. Its sole purpose was to talk about the situation which inspired you to author this thread, and offer multiple suggestions and ideas. I will even fix your diode...

    HELP!!!!! Please read :'(

...He might be using the new RoHS compliant silver stuff. It's hard to get that stuff to stick to a lot of things. @Wannaburnstuff: I'd (bit by bit) start to invest in as many tools as you can. First order of business: A pin vice. With this you can drill holes smaller than any...

    WL 473nm Spyder III

No kidding...I would settle for a 473nm DPSS for under 200 USD. Just kind of holding out for a repair unit.

    I'm back on LPF

    Thanks everyone!

    I'm back on LPF

Yeah, thanks...the newer frequencies you mention are part of what has drawn me back into it, as well as a local friend with a lot of enthusiasm to learn and a bunch of good ideas. I'm really looking forward to trying the 12x's as I've killed too many PHR in the past. -Brett

    I'm back on LPF

Hello everyone...I found this match, and I got a 3mw laser...and I was hoping someone here could spoon feed me the info on how to light it, so my brain wouldn't have to.... J/K!! In all seriousness, I was super into DPSS and other lasers between around 2007-2009 or so, and was somewhat active...

OH HAY GUISE HOW DO I LIGHT MATCH?!?111

Try using a lighter. I just ran a simulation here in my lab and my lighter (mine is a 1000mcd Bic) lit a white tipped match in under one second...although I didn't get an accurate mW measurent with my LaserBee. -Brett

    reliable 100mw

I love my O-Like 100mw module, however I have yet to get around to putting in a nice host. Mine is easily capable of unfocused burning at close range, and sports a nice visible beam. -Brett

    o-like 95-110mW Greenie (IR)

I love mine too! I have the same O-like laser and the beam is extremely thin, much more so than my Aixiz or Snoc Labby 532nm lasers. I haven't taken any measurements of the divergence using goggles, or done a/b comparisons with my other lasers, so I can't make a statement on the divergence over...

    15mW Labby Question

I think the issue of Aixiz using incorrect terminology in their ebay listings is more a symptom of the dumbing down of linguistic excellence that humanity has been seeing since 1994 (around the time shell accounts with access to the internet started spreading from the Universities to the general...

aixiz customer service is freakin' sweet!

I've had great experience with Aixiz products as well. I had a SMPS fail once, but they (Dr. Maricle) offered to replace it if I sent it back to him...however, I decided not to because I ended up using the MOSFET's heat sink for my LM317T. The best thing about them is that I get my stuff in 2...

Suggestion needed P/S for 60,000mW laser..

Nice pics indeed!!! Your macro photography just continues to amaze! Can't wait to see this burner roasting. -Brett

A valuable tool for removal of diodes from an aixi

I discovered a great way to instantly remove dead diodes from an Aixiz module. A spring loaded punch used for drilling. One pop and the diode flew right out -- first try. Much better than the hammer and .22 cartridge method. I wouldn't use this for any working diodes you plan on using again...

    Go get him boys!

Yeah, I know what you mean about enjoying verbal sparring, I just doubt that guy will be much of an adversary for you. It'll be something roughly analogous to using a 5000mw 808nm laser to light a match. He won't have a chance....then he'll be blocked. Pretty funny actually. -Brett
