    o-like 2W 450nm, trash or treasure?

with those nice safety features and a much better host than a brass brick i think lasersbtb is in the lead for my choice. though i notice the 500mw version has the "(FDA)" next to it... correct me if im wrong but isnt the hosts safety features what makes such a high powered laser FDA approved...

    o-like 2W 450nm, trash or treasure?

yeah i actually -did- read it and sure its a bit misleading. but even if its at least up to its >1.6W spec i dont think it would be too bad for the price... and yeah from the lasers ive bought from o-like before, i would say medium quality is a good description. although aside from o-like i came...

    simple "normal" red laser curiosity

thats what i kind of thought, but i really didnt think a 5mw red could do that. and with copper? i thought it would have to be alot more powerful than that. and i didnt even know copper had such properties. maybe someone else can repeat the scenario to gather more info?

    simple "normal" red laser curiosity

well... i... potmodded it lol. i shouldve know the results were going to be bad. but then to make things worse, i began experimenting with it :eg: i hooked up the driver and diode to a 12v power supply and one of the components on the driver EXPLODED! sparks and smoke everywhere. i actually...

    Optotronics Premium 4.99mW Green Laser

yeah, im thinking about it. and its kinda pricey for a 5mw, but its way cheaper than my local radioshack (about $50)! and this is the only situation i really DONT want an overspec laser from a cheap dealer lol...
