Hi guys,

I'm looking to get an affordable (<<$100) flashlight that can produce a lot of light in a tight spot at a fair distance (say 200 meters or so).

Requirements are otherwise pretty limited: 18650 batteries would be preferred, if possible no more than 2. Runtime is not really important here, 10 minutes at full brightness is fine, though it would be nice if it had a lower power mode so it could be used to last a lot longer at fare reduced intensity.

Are there any products out there you'd recommend for this application?

To be clear i don't need anything fancy like flash/strobe modes, water resistance, impact resistance or anything like that. It can be a bit flimsy at this price point, but obviously not to the point where it just falls apart by looking at it badly ;)

I just asked here instead of on a dedicated forum - as you guys on here know enough for a simple question like that and i don't want to get into discussions about brands and what not.

I have both and I can recommend them..

Nitecore EC4GT (80€)

That seems to fit the bill pretty well, powerful enough i suppose, and a nice form factor too. The low intensity modes are a nice extra, especially the really low ones as an emergency orientation light etc.

Question is: where to buy it if you live in europe? Nitecore doesn't seem to be selling them directly, are there any reliable vendors that ship the real product and not some imitation at affordable rates to mainland europe?

Well I pulled the trigger {pardon the pun} on the Gun Mounted Olight M3XS-UT with four Filters, RGB + Defuse White.
Now if only I could buy a Weatherby 270 Magnum.....:cryyy:

Thanks Tero.

Yea 270 is a great round and in mag it's even better although the mag ammo is expensive.

For super cheap I would maybe look at building your own in a empty Convoy-C8 host they are like $7. I like like the fact that the mcpcb can be screwed down to host.
People say theirs goes from 200-400 meters depending on how small & bright your LED is.

The best super bright LED would probably be a Cree XHP-35 but its hard to find a 16-17mm driver that will work well with it. Although I managed to put a XHP-50 with a buck driver in one of mine. :yh:
The XP-L2 or XM-L2 or SST-40 might be more reasonable to find a cheap driver for. And a good comparison was found: Here

I like to browse BLF for ideas, and sometimes look at mtnelectronics.com

The MANKER MK35 looks like it would kick ass.
I got the X80 and K70; they really are impressive, but I feel like I might have splurged a-little too much after getting them.
