Paralleling Drivers

Hey everyone! Back from my Alaskan cruise. Was fun. Anyway, on to business.

Regarding paralleling drivers: I know it works for the Flex and the Micro and all linears, but does it work for solely buck drivers?

I plan on sticking two normal buck drivers (from DX) in parallel to run a 445 diode at about 1.4A. They are identical drivers... but the question is, if I stick them in parallel and used 8.4V nominal, would it work fine? Do I need to use balance resistors? If so, what are those and how do they work?

I'm pretty sure DTR tried it on the NJG-18. It was highly inefficient.

Hmm. Well then. I may have to do some tests on this then before I just set it up. Not really worried about efficiency (and the NJG has a bad rep for being really inefficient, anyway), just raw output power. I have tons of batteries, so I can always change 'em out.

are they the LDO bucks?
