Heya everyone!

Just completed my brass bar laser!

At the time of this post, I don't have actual pictures, but here's my finely edited HD video of it.

I filmed and edited a full video showing how to make this, but its not complete yet, so here's just the tail end of the video:

Homemade 1.2 Watt brass bar blue laser - Burning Power! - YouTube

Enjoy!

Details:

DTR 445nm diode.
LM317 driver circuit (with 1 ohm resistor)
2 heatsinks on the LM317 (plus heatsink compound)
12 volt computer fan (although it actually cools the regulator more than anything XD)
Made from solid brass bar. The fan isn't even needed. It still stays ice cold!
Tap-threaded hole and set screw for Aixiz
Click on/off square switch
Steel grounded power adapter port (for versatile power input)

The only parts that weren't laying around my basement were the diode/aixiz, and the lm317 and 2 watt resistor.

Still waiting for my glass lens, so I'm playing it safe and letting it rest until I get it.

With a glass lens, there's no way you are going to get 1.1W out of it at 1.25A unless your diode is REALLY efficient.

Nonetheless, I like the build! Very original and DIY-y. +1!

Didn't I see a build tutorial of that Laser on HF...
It shouldn't have any problems with quick heat buildup...

Yeah it's the tail end of the video I'm working on. I don't have enough replies and info to edit and publish yet
