No - it takes Lithium CR123a batteries - not the RCR123 which are rechargable, and will kill it, since the initial voltage is way too high. CR123a Lithiums is what is required to run this beastie - it takes two at a time, and honestly, they seem to last forever !

Cool that's all good in my books then ;) I just didn't wanna fry the diode if i put lithiums in it coz as you know pulsars and other red laser die if lithiums are used

You betcha ! This one is designed to use them, though - there is a possibility that rechargeables will work in it, as I have been told they would, but I am not willing to risk the laser by doing that !

The CR123As at batteryjunction.com are tried and true if you're looking for batts for those lasers. The tenergy brand ones are very well known and recommended at the $1 price, and for juts a little more you can get the panasonics which normally cost a lot more. I recently got 20 of those panasonics to use in my Spyder I.

I went with 10 of those panasonics, great deal.

Also you can get 5% off your purchase with code "cpf2006"

Thanks Pseudonomen, btw what does that mean?

Hi Senkat,

This is my first post here...I found this forum due to your post in CPF Laser section. My CPF user name is the same as my username here.
I'm interested in this 200mW Red laser (higher power, e.q. 300mW is ok too). Is this red laser really outputting 200mW CW tested? Is it have good beam divergence, or focusable, etc? Have you try this yourself? I trust your judgement, and if you recommend it, count me in!!!
Hopefully it is not too late to join in. I can Paypal you straight away...

OK, I will take a plunge even though I have 100mW red laser coming my way soon. Hopefully this will be much more powerful than my 100mW.
Paypal has been sent for 1 laser plus shipping to Australia, for a total of US$150. Thanks for doing this, Senkat...

BTW, let me know if there is any deal on powerful Green pointer (125mW or above) and Green portable laser such as Hercules, etc, which power ranging from 200mW or above...

Judging from the success of this Group Buy, I may venture out into the world of greenies as well, if I can find a good deal...I have you down, Bernhard - thanks for coming by !

Hi, I am new to this forum and pretty new to lasers in general, but this looks like a pretty good deal. If I decide to order one when is the deadline for me to order? I think I read something about Monday the 18th, but i just wanted to check. Thanks. :)
