I received my DL-6353TL laser diodes today (ebay)..
They are rated for 7 mW of 635 nM output with a 40 mA max current.
After mounting one in an Aixiz module, I proceded to light it up with a current range of 20 to 60 mA. It appears that current over 45 ma (11.5 mW) is at the knee of the curve but I did achieve 14.9 MW at 60 mA. (No, I didn't burn it out --- yet ;D)
Diode voltage is 2.27 volts at 45 mA. The beam looks red until you put a 660 nM beside it, Then it looks like a HeNe beam.
The picture here shows a 660 - left and the 635 - right running at 4 mW. It's hard to see the difference through the camera.
NO - - It won't burn, light or cut stuff -- Don't ask.
