Aixiz Glass lens (not 405 AR) any good?

I have a module that came with an Aixiz lens but was informed ny the seller that it is not the "405 lens" but that is the "typical broadband glass lens". I plan on using this in a 405nm build and was wondering if this lens is suitable...

Will it kill the diode without the AR coating?
Will it perform OK or should I just get the Aixiz 405 lens?

If it was an AixiZ glass lens from before and was not the 405 glass lens, then I believe it is AR coated for red wavelengths. When you look at the lens with a lamp reflecting off of the surface, if it is reflecting a blueish color of light, it is AR coated for red.

Thanks for the quick knowledge guys. Looks like it's time to pick up a pair of 405 glass lenses.
I'll need one for my current 405 build and another for my future 445 build.

Man this forum is nice compared to some of the larger topic forums out on the interwebs.

But is there any danger in putting a glass lens with AR coating for red (aka standard AixiZ glass lens) in a 445nm pointer?
I get that there will be some light reflecting back into the diode and that energy will become heat, resulting in light output loss and shorter duty cycle.
But could it damage the LD?

Yes. Don't use that lens with a 445.

Just grab a 445 lens. They are $10.

Even the acrylic lens outperforms the red-coated glass for 445. Just make sure the back is opened (or else the plastic melts)

I just swapped the regular glass aixiz lens for a aixiz 405 lens the difference was night and day. I will try to take some dot photos.
