Man, it was dark. Was that all caused by the fires, diachi? Or was it that time of year when midday wasn't that bright anyway?

Wildfires definitely make for some nice outdoor beam shots! That said, hope we don't get any again this year...

This is how it ended up looking when we had some real bad fires a few years back. Video taken in the middle of the day.

Stay safe!

oh my gosh Diachi! that's insane, that was really during day? I couldn't imagine how that looked in person.

It was a mix of very dense smoke covering the city and a lightning storm that rolled in. Nope, that was in the middle of summer. At that time of day and that time of year the sun is still high in the sky, around 40 degrees altitude. Sunset isn't until well after 11PM, this was at around 5PM.

It was weird! Thought the apocalypse had arrived. Went out for a smoke at 4PM and it was light out, but very smokey from the fires. Left work at 5PM (sunset isn't until after 11PM) and it was pitch black. Crazy!

That storm did roll in fast, Tero. It reminded me of a sand storm that rolled into Lubbock, TX from the west when I was there. I was also headed west into town and was overtaken by the sand just as I hit town. It got black like in Yellowknife, too. I really hated Lubbock. Was so happy to get back to Colorado.

Diachi and Tero, those are some amazing severe weather videos, it looks like the one guy in Teros video had it right when he said, "it's the end of the world"!
