YES BUT you have to click the little arrow (which no one does)
to show that warning.

why not just put an annotation and a time pause regarding safety

or even sell some cheapo goggles for $50 and make even more money.

$49 max. Must be $30 worth of solder and wires, leaving only $20 of pure profit.

Plenty of people click it. Again, no one wants to address the clear hypocrisy here regarding one of you famous forum idols.

Not a bad idea to sell goggles but I don't sell anything.

So you're saying they're not worth $100 each?

Interesting.

No, the warnings have been there since my first laser video in 2007.

There is NO WARNING on either the YouTube video or on the link to the extensive build instructions on ROG's Lighter build. BTW: He accidently burns his OWN FINGER in the video.

Well...the module does not use any power. I assume you mean the diode? And no I am not, as you so sarcastically imply, the only one with first hand experience. This "gadget" is a novelty item, not designed to be used every day. Seriously, who wants to wear safety glasses all day long. The button cells are the only reasonable power source in such a small host.

Yes the kit is heatsinked. That's what the module does, right? Also the module has a collimating lens in it to focus, right?

I am not affiliated in any way with LaserDIY.com
Ahahah
I did not save $5, I saved $35, read more carefully.

Second, AHAH and folks do not believe me when I told them that Kipkay stated that module acts as a heatsink.
Module does not use any power?! WHAT?!

Let me explain to you :
Module , commonly used therm around here describes a fully working laser head with driver, diode and focusing assembly.
All ready to go.

Housing, the aixiz you advertise so much, hold the diode and lens together,

HEATSINK, on the other hand, sits AROUND the MODULE drawing the heat away from it. Few grams of brass (of the module) is not exactly a heatsink, but this is :

It's also brass, not common very much but alluminum and copper variants are.

So no, it's not RIGHT!

Second, focusable and focused is not the same. I'm able to change the focus on my laser. You are not. So it ain't RIGHT.

Third, power source, yes there is better solution to button cells, it's called lithium ion cells , I presonally like them very much, and one with marks
10440
Means it's 10 mm in diameter, and 44 mm lenght, can comfortably sit in your "lighter", and with capacity around 350 mA and current capability of 2C discharge, it'll more than happily power any bluray diode with boost converter.

So, you need to expand your views and take a closer look at what are you doing, and what you COULD be doing.

Offtopic,
Resistor 4.02 ohms, 1/4 watt

Face it, way more people see your videos. Sure, Rog should probably have safety info... but putting in a pause with some info on safety in the video you have the possibility to save someone's eyesight. Why not do that?

@kipkay; man I've seen alot of your videos, and, while some are entertaining, I do agree with the guys here, how hard can it be to put on some safety glasses? Or take 5-10 seconds in your next video placing emphasis on the possible dangers. You and I both know that if a rich little white girl gets blinded with one of these, the US will be the next AUS, and nobody wants that.

Annotations can be turned off.

Who would it hurt to put that same sort of warning in your other laser videos? And who whose health would benefit? Win all the way around, in my opinion.

Oh, Rog "should" have done it? Come on?

I have added a safety Annotation to ALL of my laser videos on YouTube. There is an audio warning in the Cheapy Lighter Laser video that has been there since I made the video. All of my videos have a safety warning in the description as well. I'm sure that this will still not satisfy the users here.

All I ask is for the answer to this question: Why not do everything you can to preserve the health of your viewers - especially when showing them how to make dangerous gadgets?
