What a sham of specmanship.

WTF is this with "NEAR TEM00"?
Either it's TEM00 or it isn't, I guess they put it in there to sound good and allow lots of mode hopping...oops I mean NEAR TEM00.

Then I see that the pulsed/switched unit has a duty cycle, but the CW one doesn't....
That doesn't make sense, the pulsed laser is already being shut off (pulsed) for a good percentage of the time (they don't give the duty cycle of the 2Khz switching period).

I think these pulsed lasers are going to be a big seller with these kinds of sellers as
1. They are cheaper to make as most diodes can be over driven for very short periods.
2. They don't require lots of cooling as they are shut off a good percentage of the time.
3. The people buying them don't have power meters capable of measuring the true energy output of pulsed lasers, most meters will record the peak power of the laser or maybe the average output as if it were a CW laser, most won't report the energy (joules) of pulsed lasers unless it is one of the more expensive meters.

I agree with Milos actually, that case looks nice and if it were solid copper I'd be a happy camper with one of them in my hand. To me though, I put at least 90% of my price emphasis on the actual laser. If it only comes down to a few bucks, I may pay a little extra for a cool design, but to me, I'm buying the laser.

If I wanted to collect cases, I'd be on a different forum and I doubt I'd be paying $1k apiece for them. I like lasers, and if I'm paying a k for one, it damn well better be good. Until DL proves to me they are for real, I won't believe them. I've seen far too much crap out of them, and very little evidence otherwise.

I had quite a lot of respect for DL, bought my first laser from them and have just bought another. Their service is great, both times I have paid directly through paypal with their customer support.

The spec they have put up for these are just stupid, saying it can reach some other planet or the moos is a stupid way of measuring power.

As I am here, I don't know if anyone else has noticed but they have a new Hulk out!

I really don't trust them, something doesn't seem right with some of the lasers. Maybe they have mistreated them but maybe it's just the unlucky ones who kept getting poor lasers from them. The service you get from them changes if you have a problem, it's like they don't want to know.

I will still be getting the 125mW that I've always wanted, it's coming direct from CNI though. It's cheaper than anywhere else and they have offered me a single unit instead of having to buy in a large batch, which I still may do!
