Hello all, ive put together 2 phr 803 builds with your not so tipical host
1rst was with a airsoft laser sight module that is adjustable , and its
a rather strange looking thing that has a ddl driver i put together ,and 9v
battery.

Heres a pic of 1rst build.

Im rather happy with this crazy looking thing , but im having issues with
this second build.

Second Build
This one is made out of copper 3/4 tubbing!
Im using aixiz module and a ddl driver i put together, running it off cr123 bateries
.It works great but im concerned that it might overheat and die.
There is no heatsink and  had trouble with the + and - connections onto my
driver. the whole host is + polarity and i dont know if i heatsink the aixiz module
if there will be a problem since the host is +.

also im running the driver and im using a the  lm317t ,100ohm pot,12ohm resistor  witch put out prety good power but i dont have the parts to make
dummy load thus not knowing the exact ma its putting out.

-Main goal and  concern is heat and power .

-What should i do , change host ? if so witch one ?

-I was thinking maybe project box with cpu or other modded heatsink
and a heatsinked DDL driver and different battery. what do you think, based on goal what do you guys  recomend?

Heres a pic of the 2nd build...

Hey.... the copper tubing build is original and neat... Thumbs Up..

If the Aixiz module makes good contact with the Copper case... I wouldn't
worry about heat build-up.

If the electrical polarity is a problem to transfer heat from the module to the copper
host... think about using silicone heat transfer pads... like are used to electrically
isolate transitors fron their heat sinks... ;)

The PHR diode has floating pins. It doesn't use the can pin. This means you can easily heatsink the AixiZ to the host. In fact you should. Try to make a heatsink that will have good contact with the module and the host, so you make the entire host a heatsink. :)

It will work very well. Thanks god for floating pins, eh?

I really like the apperture on the first build. That's from a laser sight from an Airsoft gun? Looks great! Good job.

Do you have any pictures showing the sight itself?

Thanks IgorT for the reply, thank god for floating pins :D , i will be making heatsink of somesorts.

As for the first build i do have pics i might post them tomorrow ;)
