I decided to put Another Blu Ray diode in my new host, i found an X-Box HD player and removed the diode from the sled, The diode is the lower power DT0811. I did the famous pliers on both sides of the heatsink and twist trick, and the diode fell right out landing on the soft carpet 1 cm below, cool, But... There's ANOTHER heat sink on it! One that is round with no surface for grabing. Any suggestions?

Yeah. That thing is a beyotch. I hold it in my fingers and use the corner of a very fine toothed file to cut a groove in the heat sink by the rear of the diode. Then I use a small screwdriver to twist the groove open a bit. I can usually get the diode out at that point. Sometimes I had to use a dental pick to get it loose.

Peace,
dave
