Welcome to the foums. Be sure and spend some time checking the safety posts out and invest in some nice laser safety goggles if you plan on getting anything of power (they say 5mW, but depending on your use, it may be more... just use common sense and do your research). There is a ton of great info archived here that can be found using the search bar... most of the common questions asked by brand new hobbyists are answered many times over and quickly located using search. Have a blast... this is a very addictive and fun hobby. Cheers!

Thanks guys, yes I been reading here for about a week before I even joined. I wouldnt even have thought to wear glasses to be honest till I read through a lot of the stickies and post. Now I just seen a post with the high powered flashlights and I want one of them too! oh boy this is gonna be fun.

There a ton of threads here about goggles, but if you want a place to start your search, I would take a look at these links:

Low end - better than nothing, but I'd recommend you spend a little more to get a nice set. I actually bought some of these to have "extras" for guests that may be near the laser fun.

Great value for a good pair - These are great for the money... just remember to match to the appropriate wavelength. (ie. red for blue/green and blue for orange/red)

High end - These are some of the best you can buy, but they don't come cheap. Remember to purchase for appropriate wavelength.

A search here will get you a slew of reviews and personal experiences to help you decide.

since you mentioned that 1st site laserer that's the one I really liked, was thinking of this one LZCS - Classic 532nm 50mW Focusable Green Laser Pointer but read quite a few post people having problems with them not shipping + didn't see a paypal option in payment method so are they (trustworthy still)? i've also read nothing but good about laserbtb so can I ask your opinion? Also seen one from joker on here I liked but really would like to have the key lock function since 2 teenagers are running around here. thanks
