    Help Building Test Load

    So when i need 300mA with 4 diodes, its 3.1V that i measure? (300mV + 2.8V for the diodes?)

650nm 300mW red laser diode question

Ok, so far i have all the components except the test load, But the parts are ordered. I have the 1N5408 diodes, and a 3W 1 Ohm resistor. I'll keep in touch.

    Help Building Test Load

i bought a resistor of 1 ohm, 3 watt. 3 watt should be enough for the test load right?

    Help Building Test Load

How many watts can your resistors handle? Problem is that i have only 1 ohm resistors @ 0.25 watt each. i think they are too light for testing isn't it?

650nm 300mW red laser diode question

well i don't know if that link is useful for you since you're living in Sydney. Why not try your local hardware or machine shop, or Google for: aluminum pulleys, maybe Google van help you out. Back here in Holland, we have some local hardware shops specialized in profiles in all sorts of...

650nm 300mW red laser diode question

Another question, when i have a source of 4.5 volts on the flexdrive, do i need to modify anything since the diode can handle like 3 volts or so?

650nm 300mW red laser diode question

Maybe for your testload you want to checkout http://laserpointerforums.com/f67/help-building-test-load-60993.html

    Help Building Test Load

They have the 1N5408 @ 3A i saw later on, that's ideal for my future 450nm i've spotted on ebay, thanks for the info, i'm building a testload soon ;)

    Help Building Test Load

In a local shop nearby me they have only the 1N4007 diodes (Diode 1000Volt 1Amp). Can i use that one also?

650nm 300mW red laser diode question

Thanks for the compliment. Well, at work i have some aluminum pulleys for different type's sawmachines, and fortunately we have some with exact 12mm holes in the center. So just get some off on the milling machine, and there u have your heatsink :) Maybe at a local machine store nearby the...

    Help Building Test Load

Hi, why are u using 6 diodes in your testload setup? I want to build my own also, but i'm new in this category and don't want to mess it up the first time

650nm 300mW red laser diode question

Can i build my own? Because i see more then one type testload, also selfmade by some people. Always need that 1 Ohm resistor i see, but how do i know if i set de flexdrive @ 300mA, the current is the same when i put on the diode? (sory i'm new with this)

650nm 300mW red laser diode question

Ok, so it's no problem. Just for the 1.5-2W 450nm diode as next project i will get one :) about tuning the flexdrive, is it ok to put a multimeter between the diode's lead to read and set my mA?

650nm 300mW red laser diode question

I already have the flexdrive so that's not an option, maybe for the second one on short notice. As far for the diode, i can't tell u for sure. What i do know is that it is a kipkay suitable from itechlasers, the 650nm 300mw. also bought a couple of flashlights for like 2 euro's (3 dollars)...

650nm 300mW red laser diode question

tnx thats nice to hear that u burn with the acrylic lens, i guess i have no surprises afterwards :D. A glass lens is always better, i will consider it ;) According to the Flexdrive V5 manual, i'll solder a bridge so that the output is somewhere between 100-312mA, am i correct?

650nm 300mW red laser diode question

Hi guys, i planned to get a 650nm 300mW red laser diode and want to know if i should buy a glass lens for my aixiz lasermodule, or would the acrylic lens just do fine with it? Also bought a micro flexdrive V5 for the diode. When i test it, must i have a testload to finetune the flexdriver, or...

    FlexDrive Thermal Limiter?

Yes i know, sorry for my bad language, i'll do my best next time ;) (from outside u.s.) And the parallel driver connection is nice i must say :yh:

    FlexDrive Thermal Limiter?

why u using 2 drivers? to combine power?

Flexdrive Driver Heatsink for Continuous driver duty cycle @ 1.5A

Hi, i'm new here and want to introduce myself. I am Chris, aged 26 and live in the Netherlands, a country where this custom laser stuff is highly forbidden, but i don't care, i like it and must say i am highly impressed of the things i see here on this forum, respect. Honestly i didn't know...
