So.. just to make sure..
If you have a 150mw optotronics pen as seen here:
Optotronics Product Details
You can safely put a(2x) Duracell Ultra in it... which runs at 1.5v-1.6v out of the package.

BUT.. if you want a...
i do have one more question...
i am currently using energizer rechargeable aaa batteries at 850mAh at 1.2 Volts...
the pen is not made to go over a 1.6volt battery, but will a 1.5v or 1.6v have a noticeable increase in brightness versus the 1.2v?
Just curious if anyone has mw ratings for these...
My laser came in !

I gave it some thought...
But I do not want to damage my eyes as said pilot. In fact, I think all pilots should have to wear anti-laser goggles, not only for their safety, but it would be pretty cool and futuristic looking.
This might just be a dream, but maybe one day we will all own high...
This is my mantra:
Only let my eyes be naked when I am laying on the ground outside destroying stars and totally eradicating all the angels in heaven.

until then.. thanks for all the help !!!
my god i cannot wait.. i am going to pew pew pew like a crazy man..

I would really like a nice portable laser, but for the money.. i cannot justify the $400+ price range for a trusted (and undoubtedly awesome) brand.
As long as this pen can last me into my golden years with careful use...
Ahh.. perfect..
Plus.. they say that is is 60/60 duty cycle.. which, more than likely is around 80/80 or so..
i dont know how often i would blast it for over that anyway...
I am definitely leaning towards that 150 opt pen..
Can I assume that popping in a couple of AAA lithium batteries will...
I have been looking at that as well... how is the quality of the laser itself? Plus.. does it lack an IR filter? And lastly... does it ship with a battery and the charger?
Ok... I have been reading through these forums for days now.. :)
So much awesome information... I cannot WAIT to get a nice new laser to shine around town.
My question:
What is the BEST laser you can get that is in the 150-200mw range and for around $200...
From what I am gathering...
