Mid Night Snow Storm, 1 Watt 445nm laser

I took those photos with a Nikon D70s. I actually used the Automatic settings under "P". Picture #2 had an F-stop of f/3.8, shutter open 1/2 second, focal length of 20mm and aperature of 3.7, found in my photo properties of the original file. Picture #3 had an F-stop of f/3.8, shutter open 0.62...

Mid Night Snow Storm, 1 Watt 445nm laser

Here are some shots I took in the middle of the night during a snow storm. The first one with a flash so you can see it really is night, the laser beam you can't see, but a couple of the snow flakes are lit up. The second and third photos are long exposure times, hence the brighter scenes that...

Introducing Radiant Electronics and the Radiant Alpha Power Meter

Radiant Electronics, Radiant Alpha Power Meter carry case So I did a couple things this weekend. First, I took out my P-Touch labler and put a power button and identifying nomenclature on my Radiant Electronics laser power meter. Secondly, I bought a case to house my meter and protect it. The...

Introducing Radiant Electronics and the Radiant Alpha Power Meter

mario, I did notice the 15watt Flourescent desk lamp I have on my desk may have been the issue. I had just thought that perhaps the adjustment would allow you to trim the meter to a (-) negative value like "-.003" but I have realized that all negative readings are displayed as "-.000". It...

Introducing Radiant Electronics and the Radiant Alpha Power Meter

My Radiant Alpha arrived today! Thank you very much! It seems to be fairly accurate. The Zeroing function sometimes stays around 1mw, I can adjust between 0 and 8mW with the zero pot, but if I'm stuck at 1mW I can't turn it lower. Nonetheless, I doubt I'll be measuring lasers in the 1mw range...

    Dismantled Aixiz glass lenses (445nm)

Thanks for all the information in this thread. I wouldn't have disassembled my Dilda Lens (Aixis Glass) without having read this entire thread, first! I have 10 empty Aixis 9mm (.5mm thread) modules on order, but now I've found there is an inside diameter about 6.1mm - 6.2mm for the two small...

Introducing Radiant Electronics and the Radiant Alpha Power Meter

Thanks for the quick response! And you're right, hobbyist, yes, probablly not an issue as long as its within a couple mw, I won't care. Burn the thermopile? No way, I will not focus the beam of my 1 watt laser to a cutting point to measure - LOL - I'll focus to infinity to get my narrowest and...

Introducing Radiant Electronics and the Radiant Alpha Power Meter

Mariomaster, Thank you for the heads up that you were going to be constructing more radiant Alpha power meters this weekend. You have my order already paid for via PayPal. Thank you very very much, I am looking forward to getting this meter. I do have a question. Do you think we may need to...

1 Watt Laser stencil cutting paper

Thank you for your support. Actually my monitor is behind the keyboard, but suspended on the wall a good 10 inches above the desk, so there was just wall behind the cut, anyhow at that distance the beam is very unfocused and just a bright wide line, the intensity is collimated on the paper. My...

I snuck in without introducing myself...

Hey fellow LPF members. Some of you I've already been talking to in PM's, but for the rest my name is David ( how many does that make?) and I live in Algona, Washington USA. I have my current lasers in my sig. Not to mention I have RIP lasers and parts I keep around for experimentation. I...

O-Like 200 MW Blue Pointer, Mostly Dead after 30 seconds.

I finally got refunded for the failed device. It took 6 weeks to process my refund. Apparently some companies have better business practices on the return side. They took a long time, but I don't think they are a problematic company because of it, I believe that they are just really that slow.

    Girlfriends with Lasers [ADD YOURS]

She can be my little heroine (I know spelling) girl! Put her in a bat woman costume and I'm there! Cause I don't dig Halle Berry.

    Girlfriends with Lasers [ADD YOURS]

Basically, when I'm lasing my wife says I'm gonna go blind doing that. Maybe I should keep both hands on the laser ;) j/k She still doesn't appreciate my hobbies. So if I find a girlfriend, in addition to my wife, damn straight she's gonna be holding my Arctic Spyder 3 in a photo - LOL

O-Like 200 MW Blue Pointer, Mostly Dead after 30 seconds.

405 nm I am an electrician with enough background in electronics to accurately detail a failure of a product, so yeah the batteries are not dead. I also checked with other batteries, and these batts in my Red 200mw laser work just fine. O-Like responded in just a couple of hours to replace or...

O-Like 200 MW Blue Pointer, Mostly Dead after 30 seconds.

I got my 200 MW Blue laser today. Before it died after 30 seconds of use, it burnt as well as the old standby 200mw red burning laser for 49 bucks we all remember. The dot was clearly not a circle, but a rectangle unfocused. It appears to use a black Aixis lens module, like the red burning...
