Re: 1.2 Watt Copper 445nm blue lasers $149 shipped
Well I've now had a brief play around with this laser... lovely purple beam, even in weak daylight (my kitchen is darker than it would be outside), strong enough to light cigarettes in a few seconds and burn into wood, and it's wonderful! My...
Re: 1.2 Watt Copper 445nm blue lasers $149 shipped
Wow, this arrived so quick for me!! I only ordered on the 11th, and it arrived here today, the 14th! Especially impressive as I chose the cheaper mail option... :) Haven't had a chance to test it yet thought, waiting for batteries to charge hehe
it should be pointed out that for a 5mW beam to be nicely visible, it needs to be a green (532nm) beam. a normal 650nm red will not have a visible beam, and a 635nm red has a very faint beam, and i've heard people say that a 5mW blue (473nm) will also be visible, but...green's obviously optimal...
Re: Newbie here - converging beams inc. powe
that's odd - i read somewhere that they were trying out getting lasers to conduct electricity to use as a long range non-lethal taser variant. however, if the laser itself would burn a hole through the target it seems a bit pointless to use as a...
Re: Has anyone had experience with this 300mw port
Rhith - bear in mind that (as long as i understood what Jack said correctly) they aren't the exact same laser, optotronics uses a higher quality diode. to me at least, that's worth the extra cost of an RPL, along with the testing and the...
i'd like a heart! but then, i'm a girly girl, and this forum is mostly guys so i guess i'm outnumbered hehe... the smiley face cap that i have is fun, i've shone a 112mW green through it before and projected a giant smiley face onto the clouds at night :)
"JacKz5o - once just an ordinary man, until a laser experiment gone wrong gave him radioactive shoes, and hence he became... LaserJack! fighting for the freedom of coherent streams of photons everywhere!"
Re: **UPDATE**Destructive Gear PYRO 100 Review.
ack, i really hope that they reply, *especially* since it wasn't an entirely free laser, it would suck if they just ignored you. then again, maybe it's some holiday over there right now that we don't have? good luck, anyway...
ah, i see what you mean - many manufacturers say that their laser goes "x miles" or whatever, but it's actually a rather meaningless measurement. theoretically speaking, light will travel forever, at least until something absorbs it. however, the further away from the laser itself the beam...
you can use nimh rechargable batteries quite happily in green lasers (or most alkaline taking lasers), what do you mean about how long the beam, exactly?
Re: Quad-Review (5mW, 30mW, 115mW, 134mW)
that's interesting - your newwish style seems to be almost the exact same length as a CNI pen, but my 30mW one (the optotronics evaluation one) was about 1 or 2 cm longer. then again, it also had the dimples near the aperture, instead (where your safety...
