I saw a review of a Spartan on YT and the guy pointed out that the white cylinder in the battery chamber can be pulled out and then a 18650 battery will fit and the tailcap will close. Would it be a bad idea to use an 18650 to replace the CR batteries in this manner?
I saw a thread about those Uvex goggles and then I couldn't find it again. Thanks for posting that link, I went ahead and bought a couple pairs. I'm in between paychecks and have a nice bill coming out of my next one so the expensive brands weren't really an option right now. Something is better...
Just curious if anyone has an opinion as to the effectiveness of these laser goggles. I can't afford to spend a lot of money on laser goggles and I was hoping these would suffice for very brief usage. They are claimed to be OD5 and I have a "1W" Arctic.
Opinions please?
Laser Eye Protection...
I bought a couple lasers from LPP because they were cheap (and I didn't know better), and I'm decently satisfied. I got a 5mW 405nm and a 200mW 532nm. The 200 mW is fairly close to what is claimed, I dont have a meter so I cant be positive. But the laser easily lights matches, burns into plastic...
Now the forum isn't letting me post pictures at all.:wtf:
Down below the text box for typing in a reply is says "attach files". I can't click that button...
Thanks, I didnt even know you could do that! However I cant pull the cap from the host to access those slits, its put together surprisingly well... except for the button.
Here's my other two lasers that I bought from laserpointerpro.
Top laser is my 5mW 405 and the bottom is my 200 mW 532. The 532 has the worst beam divergence I've ever seen. Pointed it at a tree from about 75 ft away and if you're standing next to the tree it looked like a flashlight. Haha.
My Arctic just got here. I didnt have too high of expectations for it after reading on the forums, but I'm pretty impressed with it. Even low power mode is bright as balls. I haven't burnt anything with it yet because I don't have my laser shades yet (sssshhhhhh, I know I did it in the wrong...
Thanks guys! Looks like some safety glasses are my next purchase! My Arctic comes tomorrow so I'll throw up some pictures of what I have then. Thanks Issac I was wondering how you guys did that. I'll have to do it later when I can get on the forums from my laptop.
Sorry to reawaken a dead thread, but I was reading through and this seemed like a good place to ask rather than start a whole other thread. I have an Arctic coming in the mail Thursday and I was curious about the minimum distance you all think the laser could be used safely without the laser...
