would a 500mw 808nm laser diode work in this set up? I found some pretty cheap, and I have this whole driver working with a 200mW, 650nm. Could simply swapping the diodes work here?

Thanks Gazoo. I'm thinking I'm going to just disassemble mine and build Kenom's Mini Dorcy instead. sounds like I'll be better off in the long run. From what I understand, the Dorcy has these diode-protecting elements built in? Thanks again. :)
