    Weird laser diode?

Click here for the website Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm looking for a diode for a DIY project and found this one. It looks like it's cut in half, so my question is can I just use it as a normal diode in an Aixiz module? :thanks:

    Green laser acting up...

Weird. Exactly 100mw. Guess you were right livinloud.

    Green laser acting up...

Fine I'll admit it, this is a 100mw laser. Thanks!

    Green laser acting up...

I am the one who doesn't know what he's talking about? I'm the one with the laser in my hands. I'm not talking about brightness. If this was "100mw" l would feel something when it hit my skin. Just because your ebay laser was overpowered, doesn't mean everyone else who buys one is going to have...

    Green laser acting up...

You're right. Without an LPM I won't be able to find the power. But there is still an obvious difference between 10mw a 100mw.

    Green laser acting up...

The 405 is 10mw. The red is most definitely doing around 5mw, and the green is, well, you know what's happening with the green. The 405 is NOT doing anywhere near 100mw. I would most definitely know by now.

    Green laser acting up...

Does it really need a heat sink? They're only 5mw, and don't seem to get very hot.

    Green laser acting up...

Thanks for the clarification. So what do you think I should do with my 532, 650, and 405 for heatsink?

    Green laser acting up...

I never had it on more than 15 seconds. Also I don't think having no heatsink made the green dim down. It was pretty much like this out of the package. The 405 and 650 havn't had any troubles either. Also I don't know much about heatsinks, but on a DPSS green I heard it's located under the YVO4...

    Green laser acting up...

As some of you know I built a altoids RGB laser. The Instapark green laser I purchased has been acting up. The light gets really large fluctuations in power (even for a DPSS) and most of the time the dot rests at a very low power, I estimate to be around 0.5mw. Any sudgestions?

    IR filter????

"...gets too cold..." That shouldn't be a problem considering I live dead smack in the middle of Alaska... :D

Hit in eye with 1000mw 445nm blue laser

It's a small world. But it's an even smaller laser world. Not 5 hours ago I was just reading this article: http://www.laserpointersafety.com/news/news/nonaviation-incidents_files/a6392218b70b40d2334943c4fc97e677-206.php Then I find your post by accident. :wtf:

    405nm 532nm 650nm DIY Altoids laser build!

They all have their own driver. And excuse the messy wiring, it's only temporary until I get my switch that will change the laser that is being turned on. (Waaaaaaaaaay easier than re-wiring)
