Thoughts on THIS heatsink for a 2W diode? At that price, I can't believe the included lens is worth a darn, but would it be replaceable with a higher quality lens? I'm thinking about doing a knife edge project... Think this would be a suitable housing for a few diodes?

So, I managed to get to the lab today to test it out. Ended up frying my fuse on the 110-220v transformer. Luckily, there was one at the lab I could use. I hooked it up and wasn't getting anything from the laser. My ammeter would occasionally read 0-1mA, but even turning the pot all the way to...

I figured, just like to double check- especially with high power/high cost/fragile devices :) Off to the store to get some distilled water for the cooling system, with any luck she'll be up and opperating tonight! :D

I just wired it up as Phenol's original diagram had, I'm using a 10K pot and it's only giving me a max of ~3kohms. As I rotate, it gets up to 3k, then goes back down to zero. Is this what should be happening?

Ah, right! Still sending the pot ground to GND right?
