I can get it to a fine point but there's unfocused rings of light around it. The batteries just got low so hopefully that was the problem. They're charging now. I'll upload a picture when they're done.
I'm now using two 14500s in series with an X-Drive at .5A. I was using a test power source before and actually only putting .2A through it (silly me). Now it has the full amount going through it from the batteries. It's much brighter than before but still does not burn anything. Am I maybe not...
Your picture is from a dark room though, mine was in a lit one... If that matters... I always assumed a killed LD would just not turn on at all. Is there any way to know for sure if I need a new one or not?
I'm making a box build with the driver set at 480mA which I was told would give me about a 325mW output. I had it all connected and the diode turns on and is not very bright (which is expected for a blue). However, even when focused to a small point, it does not burn. It doesn't even get black...
OK, thanks. I saw this: http://laserpointerforums.com/f44/cheap-safety-glasses-tested-71621.html and instantly fell in love. For $9 on Amazon they're a steal for their performance. Do they have any cheap but good glasses like these for red ones?
OK, thanks for the help :) Is there any way to put more current through the PHR805T without killing it, or no because it's more sensitive than the LPC?
Oh, I'm fine with thousands of hours :p Would aluminum be enough or should I pay Jayrob extra for copper? I wish I could do the same kind of thing and push more current through the PHR805T. Is that at all possible? It looks like I'd get about 300mW out of the LPC with 478mA. Would that beat the...
I don't want to push an LPC too far and shorten it's life too much so idk if I want to put more than 420 through it. I value burning power more than anything else. Would the 405 at 120 mA (about 120 mW) or the LPC at 420 mA (250 mW with AiXiZ glass lense, unless I can boost it without killing it...
