I gave them a positive review at their site, for the 150 mW green I ordered a few years ago. Their prices were eyebrow raising low; I was so eager to obtain any green pointer over 5 mW that was less than $50, I didn't care about researching further; I impulsivley latched onto Laserpro. After a...
Thanks for the UV link. I've only found less than 30 so far, but there are hundreds around here. Dr. Evil, If there aren't many caches in your area, you can hide a bunch of your own, it might inspire others. Didn't know a geocoin collection could fetch big bucks!
I can't believe it, it actually exists! Thanks for the link, will check it out. I was thinking of buying a cheap UV flashlight, from a mail order catalog but it's probably not powerful enough for night caching.
I have enough difficulty finding them in the daylight. Night-time searching sounds fun though. A laser activated lock or sensor to access it would be nifty.
I make do without the app; Google Maps gets me close enough (though I'd be no match for well-camouflaged hides.). Have found only 5 caches so far, but it's a fun diversion, if one is within a mile or so of my current locale.
If anyone here is into geocaching, dollar store red laser pointers are good items to put into the containers. The packaging on some of these 5mW lasers are funny: I found one claiming it's the most powerful, best quality red laser in the world.
I guess I have been lucky. I see it as harmless fun, similar to the "dollar bill attached to a string" prank, or the super-glued coin on the sidewalk joke. Or fake dog doo, fake barf, prank sound effects, or anything else to get passersby's attention for candid-camera type moments.
Hopefully everyone who has ordered from this company have gotten their lasers by now.
I was quite impatient at the time, bu tdidn't yet know it's normal for orders to take a while.
Looks like there are some savvy pets out there. But so far no cats or dogs have taken to using laser pointers themselves, so there's a limit to their curiosity! I can't be certain it's a 5mW, but it's pen-style and emits only a very thin beam at night. The mall floors are reflective marble...
Sometimes I bring my 5mW green pointer to a mall or other indoor public place and aim it at the floor, right in front of small kids. They love it, and wonder where the sudden green dot came from, stopping and looking all around for the source, while their parents chuckle. When I do this with...
Lots of LEDs posing as lasers lately. There' s a keychain space gun with a red LED and laser sound-effects (even though lasers don't make sounds!). On the latest episode of the Simpsons, players of laser tag try to use the guns to blast their way through a locked door, only to be disappointed...
I was browsing through a hunting catalog which sells a laser-looking item called wicked hunting lights. Are they a type of laser pointer? The beam is thick, like a colored flashlight beam. AllPredatorCalls.com - The Predator Calling Superstore
