Hi LPF!!
I have done some tests of capacity and LSD on a pack of 4 LSD batteries, this time Genuine Eneloop XX 2500mAh.
I already had the "old" "normal" white Eneloop of 1900mAh, so I tought it would be great to compare them side by side regarding capacity and LSD...
Ok, let´s start with the XX.
They are these Genuine SANYO Eneloop XX 2500mAh Ni-MH Rechargeable AA Low Self Discharge Batteries - Black (4-Pack) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme
First, they are a 100% genuine product from Sanyo. They claim to hold 75% of their charge after 1 year, and a maximun of 500 cycles. They are good even at -20ºC.
The packaging is nice too:
The package shows a sanyo hologram sticker proving it´s autenticity
They look very nice and well built They have 4 venting holes in the positive end
Here compared to BTone 2100mAh:
Also a manufacture date is written in the side of the label of each battery.... (mine are from June 2012)
They came charged, no need to charge before using them for first time...
TEST RESULTS, ENELOOP XX 2500mAh
Manufactured on June 2012. Tested on March 2013 (9 months since the factory charge)
.
Voltages (no-load) from factory
Cell 1 – 1,289v
Cell 2 – 1,289v
Cell 3 – 1,289v
Cell 4 – 1,289v
First discharge (charged from factory), down to 0.9volt @ 0.5A discharge
Cell 1 – 1039 mAh
Cell 2 – 1009 mAh
Cell 3 – 983 mAh
Cell 4 – 1010 mAh
(I was especting these low readouts… the XX eneloop are not as good as the white eneloop in LSD and voltage sag)
Now second charge/discharge, charged 0.5A and discharged again, down to 0.9volt 0.5A discharge (as always)
Measured capacity
Cell 1 – 2339 mAh
Cell 2 – 2335 mAh
Cell 3 – 2328 mAh
Cell 4 – 2330 mAh
Now I will try to do 2 cycles more, but I think I will not get much better improvement…
Then, 6 months later, the first LSD test from 2x of them, and 12 months LSD test from the other 2x cells.
.
Now for comparison with the old white Eneloop
TEST RESULTS, ENELOOP XX 1900mAh
Manufactured on June 2011, tested on June 2012
No load voltages were:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 months (1.355v, 1.336v, 1.331v, 1.327v, 1.325v, 1.321v)
Measured capacity
Cell 1 = 1785mAh
Cell 2 = 1794mAh
Remaining after six months
Cell 1 = 1582mAh
Cell 2 = 1590mAh
So it has about 88.6% of it´s capacity still available after 6 months.
The measurements were done with the Imax B6 in discharge mode @0.5A
