Hey LPF,
It was a rainy day here is South Florida today, so I went to Home Depot. I was looking at the LED flashlights and found a cool laser host. It is the Energizer Hard Case Pro Inspection LED Flashlight.
Even though its mostly rubber and plastic, I thought it was a very good looking, side click, 2 x AAA light for $13. Also, I just happen to have a DTR 1.7W 445 laying around that needed a 2 battery home
I was able to create a minature heat sink / mount for the AixiZ module with some scrap brass tubing and then just attached the module right to the wires from the original LED module / switch. I drilled out the plastic lens and everything slid right together. Probably one of the easiest builds I have done in a while and really it burns.
Anyway, I wanted to share some pictures of the finished product.
I will take some beam shots later.
